Saheb Chatterjee touched Satyajit Ray’s Oscar Award.

Eminent actor and singer Saheb Chatterjee came to Sudipa Mukherjee’s show Rannaghar on 24th April, 2012. The show was telecast in Zee Bangla Channel. When Sudipa Mukherjee asked him about his experience in working with Sandip Ray, the son of eminent director Satyajit Ray, he replied with a lot of old memories. He said that he used to go to Satyajit Ray’s house at a very early age. He was the first person to hold the Oscar Award won by Satyajit Ray other than the cleaners who used to clean the house. He acted in Sandip Ray’s film Gupi Bhagha Fire Elo. In that film he played the role of one of the children in the village where the magician Ajit Banerjee was staying. At the end of the film he could not be killed by the magician. The film was based on the story of Satyajit Ray and the role of Gupi and Bagha were played by Tapen Chatterjee and Robi Ghosh once again. Saheb Chatterjee sang Jagjit Singh’s song in the show including “ye daulat bhi lelo ye shaurat bhi lelo”. In the same show Sudipa Mukherjee showed the dish bhetki fish paturi with laupata (the leave of lau tree). Saheb Chatterjee appreciated the dish.

Imon Chatterjee, Biswanath Basu and others stormed Zee Bangla Didi No. 1 Program.

Imon Chatterjee and his wife Ananya Chatterjee, Biswanath Basu and his wife Devika Basu, Rupankar Bagchi and his wife Chaitali Lahiri, Jaijeet Banerjee and his wife Shreya Banerjee, stormed Zee Bangla Didi No. 1 program on holi special on 8th March, 2012. All these guests were called by the anchor June Malia. In the first round Imon Chatterjee, Biswanath Basu, Rupankar Bagchi and Jaijeet Banerjee were asked to stand on a platform and their wives were asked to throw balloons full of coloured water. It was very funny. In the second round, Anindya Chatterjee of Chandrabindu band came and sang the song “taker jatna nin”. All the celebrities were asked to sing songs. Imon Chatterjee sang the song “aloker oi jharna dharae”. Biswanath Basu sang the song “dum maro dum”. Rupankar Bagchi and Jaijeet Banerjee also sang their holi numbers. In the third round, Biswanath Basu and his wife Devika Basu were asked to do play acting. They acted out Big B’s performance in the song “rang barse” from the film Silsila. At the end of the show, Biswanath Basu and Devika Basu won the title by answering maximum number of questions. It was fun and colour everywhere. June Malia anchored the program in style.

Mir Afsar Ali, Srilekha Mitra episode of Zee Bangla Mirakkel 6 Program. The producer Subhankar Chatterjee came in the episode and congratulated all the participants and the judges of the show for the success of the show. It was a great endeavour on the part of Subhankar Chatterjee to bring the old people, whose blessings can take the show to another 100 episodes. Palash Adhikari showed his puppet show and told a story about a girl and a boy who was born in Bangladesh, but after partition of India got separated and met in Kolkata Book Fair. Apurbo Roy played the character of a cobbler. Always he had given social message in his stories. He talked about his presence in the society. Whenever shoes, sandals are torn, the middle-class people come to the cobbler himself. Fatik Purokayet (maduli) did a great job. The old people enjoyed his performance. Paran Banerjee, Srilekha Mitra and Rajatavo Dutta appreciated all the participants and also the anchor of the program Mir Afsar Ali. Mir also sang the song “sau saal pehele hume tumse pyar hai”.

Superstar Mithun Chakravarty brought celebrities in Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program on 11th February, 2012. The celebrities included famous table player Bikram Ghosh, eminent film actress Pritha Chatterjee, actress Subhasree, actress Pallabi Chatterjee, singer Jolly Mukherjee and others. Pallabi Chatterjee, the daughter of star Biswajeet Chatterjee was asked by Mithun Charavarty about her recent performances. One of the contestant said that Mithun Chakravarty had been a class astrologer. He told him that he is going to be a producer. Mithun Chakravarty’s prediction became successful within one month. Mithun Chakravarty’s versatile acting skill was also discussed. The director of the film Nobel Chor, said that Mithun Chakravarty played the role of a thief who stole Rabindranath Tagore’s Nobel Prize from Shantiniketan. Mithun Chakravarty expressed the emotions of the ignorant thief and also never knew who was Rabindranath Tagore. At the end of the film Mithun came to know about it. The director of the film said this performance of Mithun Chakravarty was one of the best performances of his life. Bikram Ghosh composed music with Sonu Nigaam in few Bengali films including a film where Mithun Chakravarty played the lead role. In the Pack Up or Panga Round, Mithun Chakravarty asked one of the contestant, other than Pather Panchali, which were the other 2 films which West Bengal Government sponsored for Satyajit Ray. The answer was Sonar Kella and Hirok Rajar Deshe. At the same time two voices were played and Mithun Chakravarty asked the contestant to identify them. One was that of Biswajeet Chatterjee, while the other was that of Ajitesh Banerjee in the film Kuheli. Jolly Mukherjee was asked to sing a song and he sang the song “rang bhare badal se”, from the film Chadni. Pritha Chatterjee, who is a very popular actress of Zee Bangla serials said that when she got a scope of acting opposite Mithun Chakravarty, she was amazed. Her experience of acting opposite him was excellent. Mithun Chakravarty anchored the program in style.

Ratri, Anirban, Shaon, Sandip, Antara, Debottam stormed Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program.

All these actors and actresses had glorified Bengali small screen for the last few years. Some of them acted in the Zee Bangla serial Subarnalata, while the others acted in the other Zee Bangla serials like Agniparikkha. Mithun Chakravarty asked them about their personal experiences and also the history in respect of getting chances in Bengali serials. At the same time the normal questions of every rounds of Dadagiri Program were there as usual. A film clipping was shown of the song “sedin dekha hoyechilo” and question was asked in respect of who was the singer of that song in the round Chaturanga. The participant failed to answer it. Mithun Chakravarty gave the answer, it was Kunal Ganjawala. He also said that many singers from bollywood had sung landmark songs in Bengali films including Shaan, Sonu Nigaam, Shreya Ghoshal, Kunal Ganjawala and others. In the other rounds like googly, complicated questions with tricky answers were asked. In the pack up or panga round also Mithun Chakrvarty asked questions from films, sports, music, etc. A clipping was shown in respect of a badminton tournament and Saina Newal was shown winning the game. The name of the champion was asked to the participant. Mithun Chakravarty anchored the program very well.

Rajatavo Dutta. Successful serial personalities Rashi and Ujjal stormed Zee Bangla Mirakkel Program on 7th February, 2012. Actress Geetasri Roy had successfully acted in the Zee Bangla serial Raashi. Every viewer of Zee Bangla Channel knows Geetasri Roy with the name Raashi. His husband’s role is played by Ujjal. He also came to Zee Bangla Mirakel Program as guest judges. On 7th February, again Srilekha Mitra did not come. But Paran Banerjee and Rajatavo Dutta were present. Mir Afsar Ali played the role of an astrologer. Among the performers Mohammad Zamil played the role of a village commentrator. He did a great job with Bangladeshi accent. Vicky and Partho played the role of carate trainers. Always they did something new and innovative. After their performance was over Mir showed the clipping of martial art from the film Enter the Dragon where Bruce Lee killed his prey in style. Fatik Purokayet played his part very well. On Tuesday his wife Dola was brought in the show. Both of them danced with Mir in the song “maduli, bhul gaya sabkuch yaad nahi abkuch mere dil me hai july, maduli”. Sangeet Tiwary and Apurbo Roy were excellent again in their performances. Raashi and Ujjal both appreciated the performances of the all the performers. Mir asked whether Ujjal has girlfriends. Raashi said everyday he walks with a new girlfriend. Ujjal laughed at Raashi. Mir anchored the program in style.

June Banerjee stormed and rocked Zee Bangla Mirakkel Program on 6^th February, 2012. She was invited to be the guest judge in the laughter show.

On that day one of the judges Srilekha Mitra was not present on the set. Paran Banerjee and Rajatavo Dutta were present. Mir called up all the performers Apurbo Roy, Fatik Purokayet (Maduli), Istiaq Nasir, Palash Adhikari and Sageet Tiwary to perform before June Banerjee.

Apurbo Roy played the role of an astronaut. He wore the dress of an astronaut and was looking exactly like an astronaut. His comedy piece was excellent. June Banerjee was called up on stage by Mir Afsar Ali and dance on the song number “awesome sala”.

Mir asked June Banerjee whether she got irritated with clubs which asked her to do programs but promised very low pay. June Banerjee she told those clubs get a budget singer instead of her. She also mentioned that the dare-devil image was maintained by her for the types of songs she sang and also the requirements of the stage shows.

Palash Adhikari showed his ventriloquism again in style. He brought the two puppets Gelas and Katrina and played a skit relating to a teacher and the student. June Banerjee appreciated him a lot. The other performers Istiaq Nasir, Fatik Purokayet and Sangeet Tiwary did a great job.

Istiaq Nasir said he was extremely bothered in Bangladesh when people asked him how could he dare to crack jokes on Srilekha Mitra infront of her husband thinking that Rajatavo Dutta was the husband of Srilekha Mitra. Everyone laughed with their heart out at his words. Mir anchored the program in style.

Manali, Mimi, Payel, Arjun, Sohini stormed Mithun Chakravarty’s Dadagiri Program.

Celebrities Manali, Mimi, Payel, Arjun, Sohini and Priyangshu stormed Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program on 2nd February, 2012. All these actresses and actors had acted films and serials for the last few years. Manali asked Mithun Chakravarty about his own rating of his films Disco Dancer, Agneepath, Tahader Katha and Shukno Lanka. He answered that each film paved the way for the next film. Manali Dey was famous for her performance in Bengali Serial Bou Katha Kou.

Mithun Chakravarty gave a riddle, after SD, MD, TD what will come. It was identified and the answer was WD, which was Wednesday. The other full forms were Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. In the Quick or Quack round, Arjun gave the maximum number of answers and got the maximum points. Mimi gave a number of wrong answers. There were a number of questions framed from films and music. All the participants gave right answers in those questions. Mithun Chakravarty also showed them film clippings of those films where all these actors and actresses acted. Mithun Chakravarty anchored the program in style with wit and variation.

Dev and Subhasree in Khokababu. Superstar Dev, Subhasree, Rishi and the entire team of Khokababu stormed Mithun Chakravarty’s Dadagiri Program on 12th January, 2012. The other stars included Locket Chatterjee, who played a role in the film Khokababu, and the song writer of the film. Dev and Subhasree had given many super hit Bengali films in the past. Their film Romeo released in 2011 did great business. Mithun Chakravarty allowed them to promote their film Khokababu in Dadagiri Program in Zee Bangla Channel on Thursday. Dev asked Mithun Chakravarty who was his biggest competitor in his illustrious career. In reply Mithun Chakravarty said that Amitabh Bacchan was a very successful star of the period but after Mithun’ s entire struggle he considered himself his own competitor and tried to better. Even if a big mountain was put in front of him he would have climbed on that and overcome it. Dev confessed that he was absolute admirer of Mithun Chakravarty. Subhasree asked Mithun that it has been said that behind the success of every man always there is contribution of a woman. Mithun said whenever there is one woman, there are chances of success, when there are two women there are chances of trouble. At the end of the show the music director Rishi answered the maximum number of questions in the quick or quack round and became the champion. There was no elimination in any of the rounds because all the contestants were celebrities. Dev had in fact sung a song titled “khokababu” in the film Khokababu. It has been the first time Dev had sung any song. Mithun Chakravarty wished best of luck for the film which is scheduled to get released on Friday, 13th Janurary, 2012.

Comedy superstar Subhashis Mukherjee stormed Zee Bangla Mirakkel Program.

Mir Afsar Ali and Srilekha Mitra Comedy superstar Subhashis Mukherjee stormed Zee Bangla Mirakkel Program on 11th January, 2012. He had been a sensation for the Bengali film industry. Apurbo Roy presented his story related to English Professor from Oxford University. His funny English made Subhashish Mukherjee, Paran Banerjee and others absolutely spellbound. Rajatavo Dutta said that Subhashis Mukherjee played the best Jayasingha character in Bisarjan Play in Kolkata. He also referred the performance of Subhashish Mukherjee in the film Harvard. Mir Afsar Ali had asked did Subhashish Mukherjee feel bored by only getting comedy roles when he had the potentials of great character artist. He said it was a pity, he hardly got other types of roles. But with the identity of comedian he got recognition so he was happy about it. At the same time Abu Henna Ronnie, Vicky, Partho, Sangeet Tiwary all performed together in a play related to Mommy. Mohammad Zahil Hussain performed well. Mir asked him to sing the song “mirakkele aste chaan”. Fatik Purokayet (Maduli) again did a great job. Srilekha Mitra appreciated him.

Tanima Sen. Comedy star Tanima Sen stormed Zee Bangla Mirakkel Program. She had acted in many Bengali films and Bengali serials. She had great understanding with actor Paran Banerjee. Mir Afsar Ali mentioned that Zee Mirakkel Program in Zee Bangla Channel got an extention. The finale will be held in March, 2012. After that new contestants will be competing against the champions. The auditions will be held on 29th January in Kolkata. Vicky and Partho played the role of father of bride and member of band party. They did a great job. Fatik Purokayet (Maduli) told his jokes. Judge Srilekha Mitra got little annoyed saying most of his jokes were women-centric, which was unnecessary. Tanima Sen, the guest judge, said, there was nothing wrong. Everyone came to laugh and Fatik made them laugh. Sangeet Tiwary and Palash Adhikari did a great job. Tanima Sen told about her understanding with Paran Banerjee in plays and films. Apurbo Roy imitated Tarzan and was again praised by Rajatavo Dutta, Srilekha Mitra and Paran Banerjee. Mir anchored the program very well.

Superstar June Malia brought Aditi Chatterjee, Swaralipi Chatterjee, Pritha Chatterjee and Mahua Halder in Didi No. 1 program held in Zee Bangla Channel on 6^th January, 2012. All the celebrities had acted in Bengali serials and films for the last few years.

Pritha Chatterjee said she had been resident of Sintheemore area in North Kolkata. In the first round where she was required to pluck fruits after standing on trampoline she got 30 points. Swaralipi Chatterjee also got 30 points and she also succeeded in plucking the fruits.

Pritha Chatterjee acted in Bengali serial Rashi. Aditi Chatterjee acted in Bengali serial Ek Akasher Niche. Swaralipi Chatterjee acted in Bengali serial Agniparikkha. In the musical round Neel was brought. He asked the celebrities to sing the mukhra of those songs for which he sang the antara. He sang the songs “mono dilo na bodhu” sung by SD Burman. He also sang RD Burman’s song “shono mon boli tomai”. The participants did well in that round.

At the end Swaralipi Chatterjee became Didi No. 1. She answered all the 5 questions in Jackpot round and won Bed, Airconditioner, Music System and other things. June Malia anchored the program very well.

Superstar Subhashree rocked Zee Bangla Mirakkel program. She was called by Mir Afsar Ali on 28^th December, 2011. She had acted in many successful films opposite Bengali superstar Deb.

Mir asked her to laugh and it was seen whenever any comedy item was presented she could not control her laughter. Fatik Purokayet, Istiaq Nasir and Palash Adhikari all performed together in the show. The judges Rajatavo Dutta, Srilekha Mitra and Paran Banerjee all appreciated them.

Sangeet Tiwary, Vicky and Partho were the other performers. Vicky and Partho acted with a new subject once again. Sangeet Tiwary was elegant in his presentation.

The best performer of the day was again Apurbo Roy. He came as a pick-pocket and told a story related to the struggle of a pick-pocket in becoming successful in different bused in Bengal. Subhashree was amazed at his performance.

Subhashree was asked why did she stopped acting for 2 years. She said she was looking for better story and better role. She made a comeback opposite Dev in the film Romeo. Presently she is also acting opposite Dev in the film Khokababu.

Legendary singer and composer Bappi Lahiri rocked Zee Bangla Mirakkel Program on 20^th December, 2011. He was the star of the show and the anchor Mir Afsar Ali gave him lot of love and respect.

Bappi Lahiri sang the song “ooh lala ooh lala” from the film Dirty Picture, which had been sung by Bappi Lahiri and Shreya Ghoshal. Everyone cheered at the song, as the song and the film both are doing excellent business.

Bappi Lahiri said that the compositions of the 80s were so popular that they are still sung today in cyclic order. He also sang the song “ek aankh marun to parda phat jaye”, which he was composed by him. He said even the song “yaad aa raha hai” from the film Disco Dancer, in 1982, had been used in the film Golmaal 3.

Mithun Chakravarty disclosed before everyone that he was indebted to the family of Shilajit Majumdar. His father Arun Majumdar gave the first break to Mithun Chakravarty to act in Bengali theatre. The play was written and directed by Arun Majumdar.

Besides, Mithun Chakravarty stayed in the house of Arun Majumdar. Shilajit Majumdar told everyone about the bravery of Mithun Chakravarty at different levels of his own life. When people were not giving chanda relating to durga puja, Mithun Chakravarty put on tilak on his face with sindoor and demanded chanda and everyone was compelled to give it.

When singer Monomoy asked Mithun Chakravarty about whether he was admirer of Amitabh Bacchan or himself, in reply he said that he was always admired Amitabh Bacchan, but the moment the camera was switched on, he was Mithun Chakravarty. Everyone enjoyed his brave answer. Indirectly Mithun Chakravarty told that he never gave up before seeing the end.

He asked Chandra Banerjee who belonged to the band bhoomi, sing a song from her band. He asked everyone in the competition to sing songs including the Bayul Singer, Shilajit, Monomoy and others. One fact is undisputed, that after 1980s, within the Bengali film circuit, there is no bigger acting icon than superstar Mithun Chakravarty.

June Malia, Rajatavo Dutta, Mithu Chakravarty, Subhashis Mukherjee, Sudipa Mukherjee and Rimjhim rocked Mithun Chakravarty’s Dadagiri Program on Zee Bangla Channel on 15^th December, 2011. Mithu Chakravarty, the wife of Sabyasachi Chakravarty was asked question relating to forest in Jalpaiguri, as Sabyasachi Chakravarty was a serious wildlife photographer.

Rajatavo Dutta mentioned that Mithun Chakravarty was an excellent cook. He went for shooting with Mithun Chakravarty in Mysore hotel, which was possessed by Mithun Chakravarty, where he had cooked Chinese, Continental and Indian dishes for Rajatavo Dutta, Rachana Banerjee and other Bengali actors.

Sudipa Mukherjee sang the song “pyar kabhi kam nahi karna” for Mithun Chakravarty and said that she had seen the film Prem Pratigya 18 times due to the brilliance of Mithun Chakravarty. Rajatavo Dutta said that Subhashis Mukherjee, who was later known as a comedian, was the best actor ever to play the role of Jayasingha in Rabindranath Tagore’s play Bisorjon which was a serious role.

In the Quick or Quack, Sudipa Mukherjee answered maximum number of answers. Mithun Chakravarty said he was neither bangal or ghati but BATI meaning Bengali and Truly Indian. Mithun Chakravarty was excellent in anchoring the program with the celebrities.

Kumar Shanu, Surojit Banerjee and singer Silajit rocked Mirakkel program on 3 days.

During the last 3 days, Mir Afsar Ali, called the singers Kumar Shanu, Surojit Banerjee and Silajit on 3 separate shows of Mirakkel program in Zee Bangla Channel. Singer Shilajit confessed that the first interview that he ever gave was an interview before Mir Afsar Ali.

Surojit Banerjee of famous Bhumi Band, had disclosed the fact that very recently Mir Afsar Ali had sung a song under his composition. The judges Paran Banerjee, Rajatavo Dutta, and Srilekha Mitra were very delighted because everyone knew that Mir used to sing very well.

Surojit Banerjee was also very impressed with the performance of Apurbo Roy who performed a role of football coach. He gave a social message, that entry of foreign players in Bengal circuit had reduced the motivation of local Bengali footballers who also require patronage.

Kumar Shanu told the truth that he was given the first chance by eminent ghazal singer Jagjit Singh. When Kumar Shanu used to sing in hotels in Mumbai, Jagjit Singh took him to Kalyanji Anandji’s studio and made him record his song. As Jagjit Singh died very recently, Shanu said that he would never forget the contribution of Jagjit Singh in his life.

Kumar Shanu also disclosed the story of his recording of 28 songs on one day. He was going abroad in relation to musical cause. He called up all the composers in one studio and asked them to bring them and he went one recording one after the other. He sang the song “do dil mil rahe hai”, “sason ki zarurat hai jaise”, etc.

All the participants were great admirers of Mithun Chakravarty. When Mithun showed a clipping relating to a song of film Disco Dancer, Monami Ghosh, failed to identify the song and said “I am a street dancer”.  Arjun Chakravarty rightly identified the song of Manna Dey that was played by Mithun Chakravarty.

Deboleena Dutta failed to identify a film clipping from the film Kalpurush. Kushal Chakravarty answered his questions in style. Same was the case of Sudipta Chakravarty.

There were no winners or losers of the star show. No one was eliminated during the different rounds of Dadagiri like Toss round, Quick Or Quack, Googly round, Chaturongo round, etc. Mithun Chakravarty anchored the program in style. He used his excellent wit and sense of humour to keep the participants in merry mood.

All the participants had acted with Mithun Chakravarty in Bengali films in the past. So for them it was there own house as such where they were involved in unofficial adda.

Pallabi Mukherjee, Raju Middya, Apurba Roy, Vicky, Partho, Sangeet Tiwary, Qais Khan, Abu Henna Ronnie, Palash Adhikari, Fatik Purokayet, Sajal and others rocked Mithun Chakravarty’s Dadagiri Program in Zee Bangla Program on 19th November, 2011.
Pallabi Mukherjee showed her imitation of Koel Mallick when Mithun Chakravarty asked for it. Raju Middya showed his performance relating to Mahishashur Mordini strotyopath from South Indian Radio Station. He did an excellent job. He also mentioned the dialogue of Mithun Chakravarty “marbo ekhane lash porbe shoshane” in his mahishashur mordini strotyopath.

Sangeet Tiwary did a great job with his comedy performance. Although Mithun Chakravarty asked for performance from all the participants because they had created names of themselves in Zee Bangla Mirakkel Program, the main thrust was on quiz questions.

Very interesting questions were asked by Mithun Chakravarty especially in the googly round.

At the end of the show Vicky Partho got the highest number of points and won the contest. Mithun Chakravarty said that everyone did a great job but Vicky Partho were the best.

Mithun Chakravarty had brought celebrities previously also. He had been a sensation all around the program. Javed Ali sang the song “jash-ne-bahara” song from Jodha Akbar.

Babul Supriyo sang his song also. He mentioned that this year he had released a new music album with Alka Yagnik relating to Rabindrasangeet. Folk singer Swapan Basu said a lot of things about tusu and other folk songs that originated from folklore. He talked about the folk flavor of Purulia, a remote district of West Bengal.


Singer Debojit Saha talked about bihu festival famous in Assam. He had been a sensation over the last few years. He sang one of his songs.

Mithun Chakravarty asked the other participants also to sing songs. In the toss round he gave a number of hints to a question relating to a Bengali singer. The singer was Hemant Kumar. But they way the clues were given where it was mentioned that he had sung a song composed by RD Burman, everyone thought it was Kishore Kumar. It was also said that the singer had produced films, which both Hemant Kumar and Kishore Kumar had done.

At the end Mithun Chakravarty said the film in which RD Burman had composed song for Hemant Kumar was Hiralal Pannalal. There were many rounds in the program, like Pack Up Or Panga, Googly Round, Quick or Quack.

Mithun Chakravarty had anchored the program excellently. Singer Javed Ali had shown a lot of respect for actor Mithun Chakravarty in the program.
