Singer Anwesha and Surajit Chatterjee stormed Zee Bangla Saregamapa Program on Austami and Nabami.

Surojit Chatterjee. Singer Anwesha and Surajit Chatterjee stormed Zee Bangla Saregamapa Program on Austami and Nabami. Surajit Chatterjee sang his song from his new album of Band Bhoomi that was released in Durgapuja in 2012. Anwesha also sang her song from the puja album of 2012. Jishu Sengupta, the anchor of the program organized everyone and did a Durgapuja in the studio of Zee Bangla Saregamapa Program. All the contestants including Samayan Sarkar, Arpita Pal, Shovan Ganguly and the judges Kumar Shanu, Alka Yagnik and Joy Sarkar participated in the puja. On the day of Mahaaustami khichuri was served in the sets of Zee Bangla Saregamapa Program. According to the rituals on the day of Mahaaustami, the devotees are expected to have only khichuri bhog which is served to Goddess Durga. While the competitive singing continued in the sets of the Zee Saregamapa Program, the events relating to Durga puja also continued. Both Surajit Chatterjee and Anwesha encouraged the young singers.

Sidhu Roy, Cactus. On 6th September, 2012, Prasenjit Chatterjee invited Soumitra Banerjee and Sidhu Roy in the show Zee Bangla Banglar Sera Poribar. Sidhu’s poribar (family) and Soumitra’ s poribar (family) came in the show. Soumitra Banerjee belonged to the famous band Bhoomi. He had been the lead singer along with many other singers in the team. Bhoomi had been extremely popular in India and abroad. Some of the most popular songs sung by Bhoomi included “barandar roddur, tomar dekha nai re”, “jabi sosurbari”, “najabu nag hare ami maas na dhoira”, “kande shudhu mon keno kande re”, to name a few. In the first round Soumitra Banerjee did the katakuti and won more than 45000 rupees. He answered the puzzles better than Sidhu Roy. Sidhu Roy was brilliant in the second round titled Bong anubad. He spoke about the entire riddle without using English words. He won 5000 rupees in that round. He sang the song “phirbe na” with all his family members. Sidhu Roy had been a popular figure of Bangla Band Cactus. He had been the lead singer along with other singers like Pota Barman. Both Soumitra Banerjee and Sidhu Roy had been called previously in other shows of Zee Bangla namely Dadagiri, Didi No. 1 and Mirakkel program. They did a great job there too. Comedian Apurbo Roy played the character of a repairer and did a small comedy show in the middle of the show. Prasenjit Chatterjee conducted the program very well.

Mithun Chakravarty disclosed before everyone that he was indebted to the family of Shilajit Majumdar. His father Arun Majumdar gave the first break to Mithun Chakravarty to act in Bengali theatre. The play was written and directed by Arun Majumdar.

Besides, Mithun Chakravarty stayed in the house of Arun Majumdar. Shilajit Majumdar told everyone about the bravery of Mithun Chakravarty at different levels of his own life. When people were not giving chanda relating to durga puja, Mithun Chakravarty put on tilak on his face with sindoor and demanded chanda and everyone was compelled to give it.

When singer Monomoy asked Mithun Chakravarty about whether he was admirer of Amitabh Bacchan or himself, in reply he said that he was always admired Amitabh Bacchan, but the moment the camera was switched on, he was Mithun Chakravarty. Everyone enjoyed his brave answer. Indirectly Mithun Chakravarty told that he never gave up before seeing the end.

He asked Chandra Banerjee who belonged to the band bhoomi, sing a song from her band. He asked everyone in the competition to sing songs including the Bayul Singer, Shilajit, Monomoy and others. One fact is undisputed, that after 1980s, within the Bengali film circuit, there is no bigger acting icon than superstar Mithun Chakravarty.

During the last 3 days, Mir Afsar Ali, called the singers Kumar Shanu, Surojit Banerjee and Silajit on 3 separate shows of Mirakkel program in Zee Bangla Channel. Singer Shilajit confessed that the first interview that he ever gave was an interview before Mir Afsar Ali.

Surojit Banerjee of famous Bhumi Band, had disclosed the fact that very recently Mir Afsar Ali had sung a song under his composition. The judges Paran Banerjee, Rajatavo Dutta, and Srilekha Mitra were very delighted because everyone knew that Mir used to sing very well.

Surojit Banerjee was also very impressed with the performance of Apurbo Roy who performed a role of football coach. He gave a social message, that entry of foreign players in Bengal circuit had reduced the motivation of local Bengali footballers who also require patronage.

Kumar Shanu told the truth that he was given the first chance by eminent ghazal singer Jagjit Singh. When Kumar Shanu used to sing in hotels in Mumbai, Jagjit Singh took him to Kalyanji Anandji’s studio and made him record his song. As Jagjit Singh died very recently, Shanu said that he would never forget the contribution of Jagjit Singh in his life.

Kumar Shanu also disclosed the story of his recording of 28 songs on one day. He was going abroad in relation to musical cause. He called up all the composers in one studio and asked them to bring them and he went one recording one after the other. He sang the song “do dil mil rahe hai”, “sason ki zarurat hai jaise”, etc.
