The film was based on the story of the transformation of Munna Bhai, who was notorious for his unlawful activities through the dictates of Mahatma Gandhi. He told lies to Vidya Balan about being a Professor, but gathered some courage to tell the truth that he was not a Professor. The songs “pal pal pal” created a theme for the film and he performance of both Sanjay Dutt and Vidya Balan was very impressive. Although Vidya Balan’s films like Kismat Conection with Shahid Kapoor or Hey Baby opposite Akshay Kumar did mediocre business in the last few years, the viewers had seen her strong performance in the film Bhoolbhulaiya. She had done a good job opposite Abhishek Bacchan and Big B in the film Paa in 2009. She loved Abhishek Bacchan. Their child Big B suffered from a strange disease. Before death Big B united Abhishek Bacchan and Vidya Balan. Her reserve performance once again amazed the viewers. She received the filmfare award for the best actress in 2010 for her brilliant performance in the film Paa. In 2010, her other performance in the film Ishqiya opposite Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi was well appreciated by the viewers. Her role of a widow was really experimental in nature. The character as depicted by Vidya Balan had amazed many viewers. She received the star entertainment award for the best actress for the phenomenal performance in the film Ishqiya. It is interesting to see whether she gets Filmfare award for best actress for her performance in the film Kahaani in 2013. She had carried the entire film on her own shoulders. Zoya Akhtar won the best director award for the film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Rani Mukherjee won the best supporting actress award for her performance in the film No One Killed Jessica. Farhan Akhtar won the best supporting actor award for the performance in the film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Mohit Chauhan won the best singer male award for the song “jo vi mai” in the film Rockstar. Usha Utthup and Rekha Bhardwaj won the best singer female award for the song “ankho se” in the film Saat Khoon Maaf. It is strange that Bodyguard was not considered for awards inspite of the film doing business worth 160 crores. Neither Salman Khan won the best actor award, nor Kareena Kapoor won the best actress award, nor Shreya Ghoshal won the best singer award for “teri meri” song, nor Siddique received the best director award. Ranbir Kapoor and Shahrukh Khan hosted the award.

Good music was one of the reasons for the success of the film Bodyguard which did business worth 160 crores. If popular choice actors, actresses, singers, composers, don’t get any award, most of the awards look meaningless. Mohit Chauhan won the best male singer award for the song “phir se ud chala” in the film Rockstar, while Shreya Ghoshal won the best female singer award for the song “ooh lala ooh lala” in the film Dirty Picture.

More or less all the majority of actors and actresses were rewarded. Even then the best actor award should have gone to Salman Khan for his performance in the film Bodyguard. The best actress award should have gone to Kareena Kapoor for her performance in the film Bodyguard. Ranbir Kapoor won the award for his hard work. But the biggest business was done in the year by the film Bodyguard. In that perspective Salman Khan’s performance was better than Ranbir Singh’s performance in the year 2012.

The nominations for Zee Cine Awards 2012 that is going to take place in Macau on 29^th January, 2012 had been announced. The fight for the best award is between Vidya Balan for Dirty Picture and Kareena Kapoor for Bodyguard. Although Priyanka Chopra in Saat Khoon Maaf, Katrina Kaif in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Kangana Ranaut in Tanu Weds Manu had got nominations in the same category, the chances of them winning the award are very remote. Kareena Kapoor and Vidya Balan had been the best actresses of the year.

Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan are the contenders for the best male actor award. Sharukh Khan got 2 nominations for Ra One and Don 2, but his performance in Don 2 had been appreciated more. Salman Khan had given 2 great blockbusters in 2011 Bodyguard and Ready. But he had been nominated for the best actor for the film Bodyguard. This year he deserves the award. Ajay Devgan for Singham, Hrithik Roshan for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Hrithik Roshan for Rockstar are the other nominees for the best actor.

The best film is to be chosen between Bodyguard, Don 2, Singham. All these films had done great business during the year. The directors of these films Siddique, Farhan Akhtar and Rohit Shetty deserve best director award. It is interesting to see who gets the award.

Legendary singer and composer Bappi Lahiri rocked Zee Bangla Mirakkel Program on 20^th December, 2011. He was the star of the show and the anchor Mir Afsar Ali gave him lot of love and respect.

Bappi Lahiri sang the song “ooh lala ooh lala” from the film Dirty Picture, which had been sung by Bappi Lahiri and Shreya Ghoshal. Everyone cheered at the song, as the song and the film both are doing excellent business.

Bappi Lahiri said that the compositions of the 80s were so popular that they are still sung today in cyclic order. He also sang the song “ek aankh marun to parda phat jaye”, which he was composed by him. He said even the song “yaad aa raha hai” from the film Disco Dancer, in 1982, had been used in the film Golmaal 3.

The performers Palash Adhikari, Fatik Purokayet, Sajal, Istiaq Nasir, Abu Henna Ronnie, performed in front of Bappi Lahiri and the judges Paran Banerjee, Srilekha Mitra and Rajatavo Dutta. Bappi Lahiri appreciated all the participants and told them to do even better in the coming episodes. He was happy to see his own photograph in the screen at the age of 4 years with singer Lata Mangeshkar.

Every actor in the film including Naseeruddin Shah, Imran Hashmi, Tushar Kapoor and others gave brilliant performance, but as the role of Silk Smitha was depicted by Vidya Balan, her performance stood out amongst everyone’s performance. Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor produced the film while Milan Luthria directed it.

When the film was released there was no expectation of the film matching the success of Bodyguard or Ra One, but the effort of Vidya Balan and other required appreciation. The audience accepted the film as it has already done business worth 40 crores and still going very strong in different parts of India. It got the 5^th biggest opening in 2011.

Vishal Shekhar had composed music for the film. The song “ooh lala ooh lala” sung by Bappi Lahiri and Shreya Ghoshal became super hit. The story of Silk Smitha had been played by Vidya Balan. She acted opposite Naseeruddin Shah, who was a renowned actor in the film.

But he exploited her. She loved Tushar Kapoor, the brother of Naseeruddin Shah. He also did not have the guts to marry her. At the end of the film Imran Hashmi, the director who hated her for her erotic performances, fell in love with her.

By the time, he brought her mother to see her, she already consumed sleeping pills and killed herself. She was very bold and daring to accept the role of Silk Smitha. She amazed everyone with her excellent performance. Viewers should watch the film.
