Namrata Shirodkar – the soft-spoken personality of bollywood.

Namrata Shirodkar
Namrata Shirodkar is one of the soft-spoken personalities of bollywood. The films in which she had acted she had left a lasting impression based on the softness of her character. She played the role of the daughter of a military officer in Raj Kumar Santoshi’s film Pukar, opposite Anil Kapoor. Her mother played by Rohini Hattangari never wanted her daughter to marry anyone employed in the armed forces as they never have any time for their family. That was the reason Namrata’s affair with Anil Kapoor ended and due to jealousy Madhuri Dixit implicated Anil Kapoor in a false case and he was thrown out from armed forces. The film was based on terrorism and Namrata did not feature in the second half of the film, but her performance in the first part was impressive.

She also did well opposite Salman Khan in the film Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai. Salman played the role of a playboy who had married Namrata and got a son, and then forgot her and entered into relationship with Twinkle Khanna. Namrata died and the son plyed by Udit Narayan’s son, brought memories of his mother. The songs in the film “o jana”, “pehli pehli baar”, “is dil me kya hai” were bit hits. Salman Khan ultimately had to tell the truth to Twinkle and her relatives that the son was his own son and he could marry only if the son could be accepted.

Namrata also did well opposite Sanjay Dutt in the film Vastav. He was an innocent person who was compelled to join the underworld gang and engaged in unlawful activities including killing people. Namrata married him knowing that he had a very unstable life and could die in an encounter with the police. She supported him at all times even during the time when he ill-treated her.

Namrata Shirodkar
She was impressive opposite Sunil Shetty in the film Aghaaz. She helped Sunil Shetty who came from a village with his sister to know Mumbai. She also admitted her sister in a decent college. Although Sunil Shetty’s sister faced harassment eventually but Namrata was not party to it and she was supportive throughout the film. She also told both Sunil Shetty and his sister that life in that part of the world is too fast and there is no time for anyone. She left films after creating an impression on the viewers. Viewers expect her to make a comeback and do well in bollywood films in future.
