Awards of Aishwariya Rai:

Awards of Aishwariya Rai:

Aishwariya Rai
Aishwaria Rai is probably the first actress of bollywood films who started her career after winning beauty contests and proving her acting capability after performing in big banner films. All the rest of the actresses including Susmita Sen, Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra and others had followed her path and became successful in bollywood films.

The fact that Aiswariya knew the art of acting and developed it all along her career is evident from the awards she had received and the nominations she had received for performing in different films. She won the filmfare best actress award for her brilliant performance in the film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam directed by Sanjay Leela Banshali. She showed her attachment with Salman Khan who came to her house to learn Indian classical music from her father. She could not marry her and married Ajay Devgan according to the hindu convention of arranged marriage. He never forgot Salman and the frustration displayed by her impressed the viewers and she received the best actress award for the film.

She again won the filmfare award for the best actress for her performance in the film Devdas, opposite Shahrukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit. She played the role of Parvati which was the legendary role once played by famous actress Suchitra Sen in Bimla Roy’s Devdas in 1955. Sanjay Leela Banshali reoriented Sarat Chandra Chatterji’s story to suit the taste of the present generation and Aiswariya exhibited her frustration after being married to another person inspite of loving Devdas and seeing Devdas getting addicted to alcohol and killing himself. Even Chandramukhi’s (Madhuri Dixit’s) effort could not save Devdas.

Aishwariya Rai
If we look at the nominations she had received for filmfare award for best actress we will find that she had provided decent performance in many films. She was nominated for best actress for the film Taal, in 1999, (opposite Anil Kapoor and Akshay Khanna), Hamara Dil Aapke Pass Hai in 2000, (opposite Anil Kapoor), Mohabbatein in 2001, (opposite Shahrukh Khan), Raincoat in 2004, Dhoom -2 in 2006 (opposite Hrithik Roshan), Guru in 2007 (opposite Abhishek Bacchan). This year may be her performance in Jodha Akbar can lead to nomination for the same award once more. The statistics show that it is not only glamour, but also strong performance that had created a distance between Aishariya Rai and most other actresses. Viewers expect her to continue the good work in the years to come.

Aishwaria Rai was sublime in the film Taal. She was very submissive and looked beautiful. She had displayed eastern and western characters with same amount of composure.
