Kishore and Dharmender.

Kishore and Dharmender.

Kishore Kumar had sung huge number of romantic songs for Dharmender who made significant contribution in bollywood films in the 60s, 70s and 80s. If Rafi had sung nearly all the songs picturised on Dharmender in the 60s, KK had sung the majority of them in the mid-70s and 80s.

KK’s songs in the film Jugnu, composed by SD Burman, and picturised on Dharmender, titled “pyar ke is mor pe” became landmark hit. The song “pal pal dil ke pass” is one of the most romantic songs KK had sung for Dharmender.

KK’s songs in the film Sholay, titled “koi haseena jab”, “yeh dosti hum nahi torenge” picturised in Dharmender, composed by RD Burman also became superhit.

Similarly the song composed by Rd Burman in the film Shalimaar, titled “hum bewafa hargis na the” also became successful. The songs in the film Dream Girl, opposite Hema Malini, including the song “dream girl”, became a landmark hit in the late 70s.

Very significantly, KK contributed in those films of Dharmender where the main story was related to violence. There were good songs in Charas, Jugnu, etc.

Also in the film Rajajani, KK had sung melodious songs for Dharmender, including the song “jani, ho jani”.

These days when participants compete against each other in the K for Kishore program in TV Channel, there are instances when they sing songs sung by KK and picturised on Dharmender.

The songs and the films should be preserved and restored for the new generation.

In K for Kishore program, in TV Channel, a lot of participants had sung KK's songs picturised on Dharmender. Even in the last episode where Asha Bhosle came as judge, the story of composition of the song "hum bewafa" in the film Shalimaar, by RD Burman, picturised on Dharmender came in discussion.
