Aneek and Ujjaini won the Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program. On 4th November, 2017, Sourav Ganguly brought eminent singers in Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program. The singers included Aneek and Ujjaini in one team, Imon Chatterjee and Sanchita in another team, Imon and Shovan Ganguly in another team, Durnibar and Mekhala in another team, Saptak and his team and Tirtha and his team. Imon Chatterjee and Sanchita sang the song “humma, humma, humma, humma, humma”. In the first round the question was a celebrity who had featured in many reality shows in Zee Bangla. Most of the participants gave the answer as Sourav Ganguly. But the answer was Shubhankar Chatterjee, the director of Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program. Aneek and Ujjaini challenged the questions of other participants and got big number of points. They scored the fastest 50 points. Sourav Ganguly asked the name of the singer who in the recent past disguised himself and sang in the streets. The participants were supposed to name the singer. It was Sonu Nigam and Saptak and his team gave the right answer. Saptak sang the song “jawan mai hoon, jawan tum bhi ho” with his team. At the end of the show Saptak and his team also crossed 50 points and became second. They answered the maximum questions in the slog over round and became second.Surnibar sang the song "ei niralay kunjachayay".

Aneek was asked to answer a audio voice of a singer singing a Punjabi folk song. It was an uncommon song. Aneek took a wild guess and said it was the song of a non-singer and it was Harbhajan Singh. The answer was correct and Sourav Ganguly confirmed that. Tirtha and his team sang a folk song on the request of Sourav Ganguly. Mekhala sang Geeta Dutt’s song “Tumi je amar ogo tumi je amar”. Sourav Ganguly asked all the participants in turns to sing songs of their choice. Most of the participants reached the finals of Zee Bangla Saregamapa program and are known faces for the audience. On 15th July, 2017, actors and actresses Soham, Kanchan Mallick, Subhasree Ganguly, Sourav, Anindya and others came to promote their film Dekh Kemon Lage in Sourav Ganguly’s Dadagiri Program. Sourav Ganguly previously has brought many celebrities in Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program. Kanchan Mallick told Sourav Ganguly that this was the 6th time he came in Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program. In none of the previous occasions he could be the champion, he always finished 2nd. He said his first Bengali film was Saathi with Jeet 15 years back. So he completed 15 years in Bengali film industry. Kanchan Mallick jokingly said he won the prize of aamkath meaning mango wood bat everytime he became second. Ganguly said Zee Banga Dadagiri Program gave English Willow bat, not mango wood bat. Subhashree Ganguly told Sourav Ganguly that everytime she used to go for shows, the audience used to ask her whether she had any relationship with Sourav Ganguly. Sourav Ganguly in a witty manner said tel everyone Subhashree is the sister of Sourav Ganguly. Subhashree said he remained famous in the industry for her infectious laughter. Whenever she started laughing her laughter hardly ended. Subhashree and Soham told the story of the film Dekh Kemon Lage. They said Soham in the film went abroad and when he came back always got into trouble. Whenever he faced goons, his childhood friend Subhashree helped her to get out of trouble. Dekh Kemon Lage is a comedy film but is an entertainer. Anindya said he recently received best drama actor of the year for his performance in Bengali theatre. The celebrities included Saheb Chatterjee, Subhashis Mukherjee, Kanchana Mitra, Chaiti Ghoshal, Vaskar Banerjee and Dolon Roy. Sourav Ganguly asked Saheb Chatterjee to sing a song. He sang the same song that he gave lips in Sandip Ray’s film Gugababa Fire Elo. It was the third film of the series Gupi Gayeen, Bagha Bayeen. The first two films Gupi Gayeen Bagha Bayeen and Hirok Rajar Deshe was directed by Satyajit Ray. Guga Baba Phire Elo was directed by Sandip Ray. Saheb Chatterjee played the character of the child artist in the film. Kanchana Mitra told Sourav Ganguly that recently she acted in the film called Sajarur Katha. The director of the film told her the reason of casting her in the role was that he had seen her in previous edition of Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program where she wore a blue saree. She gave very good answers in the contest and ultimately became the champion at the end of the contest. Bhaskar Banerjee was asked about the question relating to a scene of film Chourangee. He identified the voice of Superstar Uttam Kumar. Sourav Ganguly asked Chaiti Ghoshal about her history relating to joining films and serials. She said she did both. The celebrities included Manashi Mukherjee, the daughter of legendary classical singer Manabendra Mukherjee, Bappa Lahiri, the son of great singer and composer Bappi Lahiri, Bablu Mukherjee, the son of comedy actor Keshto Mukherjee, Basabi Mukherjee, the daughter of famous Bengali actor Bhanu Banerjee, the son of poet Shakti Chatterjee and the daughter of actor Tarun Kumar. Whatever money that he saved in a LIC Policy, when the policy matured he gave the money to a rickshaw puller in his locality just because he had written few poems and was interested in literature. Sourav Ganguly’s Dadagiri begins with a bang. Bengalies after every 6 months of Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program, wait for the commencement of the program for the next season. This had been the story for the last 4 years. On 18th November, 2014, Zee Bangla Dadagiri started with a bang. Sourav Ganguly started season 5 of Dadagiri with 6 contestants. It is going to be shown at 10 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The format of the game had remained the same. In 2011 Mithun Chakravarty anchored Dadagiri. Superstar Mithun Chakravarty had hosted and anchored many programs in Bengali channels including Dance Bangla Dance. The program was excellent and credit goes to Mithun Chakravarty for pulling the crowd once again between 9.30 and 11.30 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The first round shown was toss round. The second round was named Pack up or panga. In that round the contestants got positive marks for right answers, negative for the wrong answers. Even for bonus answers the rule was the same. Mithun Chakravarty showed a scene from Amitabh Bacchan’s film Do Anjane, where he also acted in a small role. Those were the struggling days of Mithun Chakravarty. Later on he acted in big roles sometimes matching the stardom of even Big B in films like Agneepath. In the googly round, intelligent questions were asked. A Professor of Bengali institution who participated in the program came and touched Mithun Chakravarty. He said that participating in a program by standing so close to Mithun Chakravarty was a dream to him. In the googly round a participant was asked the question how could a mug which had a crack inside could be used to draw water. The participant answered that the crack was in the handle, the water never leaked. It was a very intelligent question. Mithun also showed his wit by laughing at a special moustache of a participant. The participant said if his wife had to marry him, she had to love the moustache before marrying him. The names of the rounds have changed if compared with Dadagiri Program during Sourav Ganguly’s time. But even then Mithun Chakravarty had maintained the charm and is expected to a great job in the coming rounds of Dadagiri because his wide experience of acting dancing in the all India arena had created a national dimension which he uses in different programs. He is liked by everyone and is doing a great job. One of the participants in 2014, Sujata Chakravarty was a cricketer. She bowled a ball to Sourav Ganguly. Sourav Ganguly did a great job as an anchor in the show.

Vidya Balan and Farhan Akhar came to the Zee Bangla Dadagiri Grand Finale program on 22nd February, 2014. They came to promote their film Shaadi Ke Side Effects which is going to be released this Friday. Sourav Ganguly asked Vidya Balan how was her experience of acting in the film Kahaani which was fully shot in Kolkata. Vidya Balan said she considered Kolkata her second home. She was fond of Bengali culture. Everyone, from the director Sujoy Ghosh to the crew and team, showed love and respect to her. Bengali characters had given her fame also, because she rose to fame with the success of the film Parineeta. Sourav Ganguly asked her about the story of the film Shaadi Ke Side Effects. She said those who marry they will understand that the relationship of the husband and the wife is sweet. But there are differences and the film had shown the differences which was depicted by Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan. Farhan Akhtar said he had to go through a huge training for the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. He made a great body and remained on instructive diet for the period of shooting of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Sourav Ganguly asked him what was the secret of his versatility? Farhan Akhtar had been a great hero in the films Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara. He had directed super hit films like Don. He had sung brilliant songs in the film Rock On. He said that he had passion over the areas he had ventured into and loved his work. Prasenjit Chatterjee and Rachana Banerjee also came in the show to promote their next program in Zee Bangla Channel which is titled Tumi Je Amar. The program is related to married couples. Soham Chakravarty said that while shooting a film when he was staying in a house, he saw a shadow of a lady who disappeared in a room. Haimanti Shukla said she did not believe in that. When Sourav Ganguly asked Sujoy Ghosh about Kahaani, he said that Aladin was a disaster. After the failure of the film, he had a last chance of proving his worth as a director by making a good film. Kahaani happened. He congratulated the entire team of Kahaani, including the artists Vidya Balan, Parambrata Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee and everyone. Sourav Ganguly said he saw it 3 times to understand the plot. Sujoy Ghosh said that the Durga Puja that was shot was Ballygunge Cultural Durga Puja. Soham Chakravarty said that he started acting at the age of 3 years in Anjan Choudhury’s film Choto Bou playing the role of the son of Ranjit Mullick and Sandhya Roy. Director Anik Dutta had made a new film Aschorjo Prodip. It has been based on the literature of Sirshendu Mukherjee. Saswata Chatterjee played the character of a middle class person in the film. He initially was an ordinary salesman. Srilekha Mitra played the role of his wife in the film. All of a sudden he received an aschorjo prodip, that means a light from where a character Genie came out. The role had been played by Rajatavo Dutta. From that time whenever he told his wishes Rajatavo made the difference and Saswata became rich. Rupa Bhattacharya played the role of a private secretary of Saswata Chatterjee. She did not like him when he was a middle class person. But when he became rich she fell in love with him. The music of the film had been composed by Raja Narayan Deb. He had given good music in the film. Sanjoy Biswas played the role of a comedian in the film. All these characters were invited by Sourav Ganguly in the show. Sourav told Saswata Chatterjee that he saw the film Kahaani 3 times to understand the story. But Kahaani had been a brilliant film of Sujoy Ghosh, due to brilliant acting of Vidya Balan, it was also due to brilliant acting Saswata Chatterjee. His character of serial killer Bob Biswas had been liked by people of different parts of the country. On 29th October, 2013, Sourav Ganguly invited the children of renowned celebrities in the program Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program. The contestants included Joshojit, the son of actor Joyjit, Oishi, the daughter of actress Srilekha Mitra, Deb, the son of singer Shamit Mukherjee, Mohul, the daughter of singer Rupankar, Megh and Bristi, the children of actress Manashi Sinha and Pujita, the daughter of another actress. Incidentally Manashi Sinha became the champion of Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program, few weeks back. Sourav Ganguly showed a clipping of song of film The Three Idiots, where Amir Khan and Kareena Kapoor danced together. The question was asked to Oishi. She could recognize Kareena Kapoor but not Amir Khan. Sourav Ganguly gave her full marks, and with wit told that it was not necessary to recognize Amir Khan, as long as the beautiful lady Kareena Kapoor was identified. Sourav Ganguly said he always admired beautiful ladies. Srilekha Mitra, the mother of Oishi, asked Sourav Ganguly, what about them. Sourav Ganguly bypassed the question and got back to the game. Joshojit gave the maximum number of answers in the slog over round and became the champion of the show. He also won the prize for the fastest fifty. His father, actor Joyjit, did not come to the show, but his mother took the prizes on behalf of Joshojit. He also asked a question to Sourav Ganguly. The question was, if he was travelling in a bus, and it was raining outside, how did he get wet? There were no leakages in the roof of the bus. Sourav Ganguly answered it was by sweat. Joshojit said, yes, yes it was right answer. Sourav Ganguly anchored the program with style, asking each of the contestants, what were their extra-curricular activities in addition to academics.

Babul Supriyo said that the folk songs are known to everyone. They have the smell and fragrance of the soil. He recorded the popular songs like “shundari kamala naache”, “amae dubai li re”, and other songs which Bengali are called prachalito pallisangeet. He is very confident that the songs will be loved by the audience. Subhamita was shown a clipping from the film Pyaasa. Geeta Dutt’s song “jane kya maine kaha” was picturised on Wahida Rehman. Sourav Ganguly asked Subhamita to sing the Bengali version of the same song. Subhamita sang SD Burman’s song “mono dilo na bodhu”. In the slog over round, Sidhu gave the maximum number of answers and became the champion of the show. Usha Utthup was asked by Sourav Ganguly to sing a song. She sang the song “senorita” from the film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Sourav Ganguly danced in the song. He said, he had run Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program for 3 seasons now. None of the celebrities had been successful to make him dance. Usha Utthup was the first person. Usha Utthup said that she had travelled to Dubai in a flight few years back. Superstar Deb and Koel stormed Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program on 16th October, 2013. Deb and Koel Mallick came to promote their new film Rangbaaz. The film had been directed by Raja Chanda. He participated in the program Dadagiri. The cinematographer Sailesh Awasthi who had been the cinematographer of the film also came in the show. The anchor Sourav Ganguly asked Deb about the speciality of the film. He said firstly the major part of the film had been shot in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. Then he said that the action stunts in the film stands out. There were scenes where Koel was being thrown from 34th floor of a high rise building. There were risks but the actors and actresses like Deb, Koel and others gave their original stunts. The music of the film was very decent. Sourav Ganguly said that these days Bengali films are shot in foreign locations. The standard of photography and camerawork is also excellent. Whenever Bengali films are compared with the Bollywood films there are not much difference. The director Raja Chanda said yes. It was the great development of Bengali films and growth in the technological aspect of filmmaking. There were shots taken in the seas near Thailand. Some part of the shooting was also done in Italy. Sourav Ganguly asked Deb about his background. He said he was an engineer. For some period of time who acted as an assistant to the director Abbas Mastan. He was born in a village in Midnapore. Whenever he used to come from Mumbai via Geetanjali Express, he used to get down at Kharagpur and get back to his village. He had worked hard to achieve name and fame in Bengali films. In the slog over round, Deb answered the maximum number of questions and became champion in the Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program. On 15th October, 2013, the day of Bijoya Dashami and also Dussehra, Sourav Ganguly invited celebrities to the Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program. The celebrities included Manashi Sinha, Kanchan Mullick, Rehsmi Sen, Papiya Sen, Surojit Chatterjee and actress Shubhadra. Sourav Ganguly asked Kanchan Mullick, what was the secret of his slim body? He said that it was nature’s gift. He has been known to eat every form of food, but he never had attained fat. Manashi Sinha said that when Sourav Ganguly asked any question, the way he stared no one could understand what was in his mind. Kanchan Mullick asked Sourav Ganguly the experience of playing in Lord’s stadium. Ganguly said that he feared the first few overs. The new balls in seaming conditions in England did a lot. If the batsmen could play out those initial overs then they could score a lot of runs. In the Googly round, Shubhadra, Surojit Chatterjee and Reshmi Sen gave right answers. Vicky and Subhashis Mukherjee were in the same team. Mithun and Palash Adhikari were in the same team. Doel and Shobhan Ganguly were in the same team, Fatik Purokayet and Mrinmoy were in one team. The other singers Arpita, Kushal and others were also invited by Sourav Ganguly. Sourav Ganguly during the program asked Subhashis Mukherjee and Vicky to sing a parody song. They sang it. Then Fatik Purokayet was asked to recite a poetry on Dadagiri Program. He did that too. In Zee Bangla Mirakkel Program he used to be called Maduli by the participants and the anchor Mir Afsar Ali. So the participants also called him Madulida. He was a teacher of Bengali language by profession. Shovan Ganguly was asked by Sourav Ganguly to sing a song. He sang the song “Maula maula maula mere maula”. He sang the song with a guitar. He played the guitar himself. Mithun was asked by Sourav Ganguly to say a big statement on cricket match. He said a spin bowler was hit for two over-boundaries by Ganguly. Then if the state of the mind of the bowler would have been described by Sarat Chandra Chatterjee he would have made the statement with a difficult language. He spoke that language. As 2nd October was Gandhiji’s birthday, most of the quiz questions were centered around Gandhiji. Sourav Ganguly asked the question, who gave Gandhiji the title of Mahatma. He answered that Ranbindranath Tagore gave him the title of Mahatma to Gandhiji. At the end of the show all the contestants sang the song “suno gaur se duniyawalon sabse aage honge Hindustani.” Sourav Ganguly anchored the program very well.

Sudipa Mukherjee, Neel Mukherjee, Jayjit and others stormed Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program.

On 25th September, 2013, Sourav Ganguly invited celebrities Sayan Basu, Sneha Chatterjee, Sudipa Mukherjee, Neel Mukherjee, Jayjit Banerjee and Biswanath Basu in the program Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program. Sourav Ganguly asked Sayan Basu what was the meaning of her name Sayan Basu. She said she was born in July, during monsoon period. Srabon in Bengali indicated monsoon. Sayon was derived from Srabon, so her name was given Sayan Basu. Sneha Chatterjee said her husband who was and film editor, used to play cricket and big admirer of Sourav Ganguly. Sourav Ganguly told everyone that she had ably acted in the Zee Bangla Serial Subarnalata. Neel Mukherjee said his father also was a great theatre actor. Presently he is acting in one of the plays that his father had acted in the late 1970s. In the googly round Sneha Chatterjee gave very good answers. On the screen all the alphabets were shown and the word soap written. In the list of alphabets s was coloured red and the second was coloured half –red. She said it indicated daily soap. Sunday was a holiday and Saturday was half day, that was the reason they were coloured red. In the slog over round the participants answered the questions even before the options were put forward. The result was that most of the answers were wrong. Biswanath Basu pressed the buzzer relating to the question what was the actual name of music composer Jeet Ganguly. He could not answer that the original name was Chandrajeet Ganguly. Some of the questions asked by Sourav Ganguly were very intelligent ones. He asked which came first egg or chicken. The question did not mention’s the egg of which bird. The answer was the Dinosaurs came before human beings and other birds. So obviously the dinosaur’s egg came before the chickens. Neel Mukherjee asked Sourav Ganguly that if anyone wanted to create a film on the life of Sourav Ganguly, who will be the actor who he wanted to act out his role. Sourav Ganguly said that if such a film is made in future, he wanted to play the role. At the end of the show, Sudipa Mukherjee became the winner of the Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program. As no one could score 50 points, the cash amount for the fastest 50 was distributed among all the contestants. When the child contestant who used to carry the bats for Sourav Ganguly was asked who was the better actor among the celebrities, he said Neel Mukherjee.

Madhumanti Maitra, Deboshree Roy and others stormed Zee Bangla Mirakkel Program.

Sourav Ganguly invited celebrities on 18th September, 2013. Bengali actress Deboshree Roy, actor Barun Chandra, Dulal Lahiri, Debika Mukherjee, newsreader Madhumanti Maitra and others. Sourav Ganguly asked Deboshree Roy about her new film Adhoba. She said that she is playing the lead role. The other artists in the film included Barun Chandra, Dulal Lahiri and others. Sourav Ganguly asked Deboshree Roy whether she had reduced acting in films after she became MLA from Trinamool Congress. She said she balanced the 3 things together, acting in films, her work as MLA and also the responsibilities in respect of social welfare. She also is an animal lover. She has a lot of dogs at home and takes care of them. Barun Chandra shared his experience of working with Oscar Winning director Satyajit Ray. He said Ray met him when Barun Chandra was working in an advertisement company. Ray came in contact with him and gave him a role in the film Sheemaboddhyo. The film was released in early 1970s. After that for 20 years Barun Chandra did not work in films. Then he joined films. Sourav Ganguly showed a clipping of the first hindi film of Deboshree Roy with Arun Govil and asked the question to Barun Chandra about the actor. He could not say it although he identified Deboshree Roy. Madhumanti Maitra gave the maximum number of answers and won the prize for the fastest 50 in the show. Deboshree Roy sang a song in the show. Madhumanti Maitra asked a googly question to Sourav Ganguly where she asked him to name a mountain where there was good fragrance. Sourav Ganguly said that Sourav meant good smell and Dadagiri had the word giri meaning mountain. Everyone clapped at Sourav Ganguly’s ready intelligence. He anchored the program very well and gave due respect to all the celebrities in the show.

Tapadyuti Dutta, Shreyan Bhattacharya, Ronita Banerjee and others stormed Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program

Tapadyuti Dutta, Shreyan Bhattacharya, Ronita Banerjee and others stormed Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program. Sourav Ganguly brought the child contestants in the Zee Bangla Dadagiri program on 10th August, 2013. Ranita Banerjee, Swapnanil Sarkar, Tapadyuti Sarkar, Asmee Ghosh, Subhankar Sarkar and Shreyan Bhattacharya are big stars of Zee Bangla Channel. Some are good singers, others are comedy experts and actors. Sourav Ganguly asked Tapadyuti Dutta to say a joke as he was a star of Zee Bangla Mirakkel Program. Swapnanil Sarkar was asked by Sourav Ganguly why was he called Sandesh. He said his elder brother is called mithai, so his parents called him by sweet name. Sourav Ganguly asked Shreyan Bhattacharya to sing a song. He sang Manna Dey’s song “shashikanto tumi dekchi asortake korle mati” which he had sung early also in Zee Bangla Saregamapa Little Champs Program. Ronita Banerjee sang a chorus song with Shreyan Bhattacharya and Shubhankar Sarkar, titled “ghore jaisi chal, hathi jaisi doom”. Sourav Ganguly askd Asmee Ghosh whether she had the curly hair naturally made. She said yes. She had acted in the Bengali serial Sati. Swapnanil Sarkar also sang the song “balam pichkari”. In the slog over round, Ronita Banerjee answered the maximum number of answers. She won the prize for scoring the fastest 50 in the show. Swapnanil Sarkar knew a number of answers but due to the fact of not knowing how to press the buzzer first he could not answer them. At the end of the show Ronita Banerjee became the champion of the competition. Sourav Ganguly showed some batting stunts to Subhankar Sarkar because he said he played in the cricket stadium in Kalyani. His father was his coach. Sourav Ganguly showed his wit in conducting the program because it is very difficult to keep the child contestants in good mood.

Joy Sarkar, Jayati Sen and others stormed Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program.

Singers Joy Sarkar, Jayati Sen, Somlata Choudhury, Raghab Chatterjee, Rupankar and Anushree stormed Zee Bangla Dadagiri Program on 3rd November, 2013. All the singers were invited by Sourav Ganguly in the program. Jayati Sen was asked by Sourav Ganguly to sing the song “amar bhitore bahire”. She did a great job. All her rabindrasangeet had been melodious. Raghab Chatterjee was asked to sing his song. Somlata Choudhury was asked to sing the song “jagorone jay bibhabori”. Sourav Ganguly asked about her experience after marriage. She said she was brought up in Kolkata. Her husband works in Gurgaon. But her husband was born and brought up in Asansol. She had to stay in Kolkata for music recording purposes. Raghab Chatterjee said he was very close to Sourav Ganguly and almost had relation similar to a relative. Incidentally Raghab Chatterjee received talim from Pandit Ajoy Chakravarty. He had sung in many hindi films like Parineeta, Devdas, etc. and worked with Sajid Wajid, Shantanu Moitra and others. Joy Sarkar came with his guitar and played the music with almost all the singers. He was the son of singer Sudhin Sarkar and showed his excellence in composing music for many established Bengali singers. One of his good tunes include “dekhecho ki age oi nil nodir jole” sung by Subhamita. Joy Sarkar asked Sourav Ganguly how he remained focused when Greg Chappel sacked him from the team. He said that the ups and downs are normal in the lives of every cricketer. He was very strong to stay calm and by that period he already played for more than 11 years, and the people recognized his skills as an opening batsman and captain of the Indian team. Rupankar asked Sourav Ganguly when he will be Indian coach. He said he was interested. If the selectors selected him he could do go job. Raghav Chatterjee gave maximum number of right answers in the slog over round and became the champion. At the end of the show Sourav Ganguly asked all the singers to sing a song together. He anchored the program very well.

Sweet bollywood star of the 90s, Manisha Koirala appeared in Sourav Ganguly’s program Dadagiri, shown in Zee TV, on 25th December, 2010. That was the Christmas surprise that Sourav Ganguly had given the audience. Manisha spoke in English and hindi and Ganguly translated the Bengali version to her in English.

The quiz program having different rounds like straight drive round, slog over round, bapi bari jaa round, googly round, etc., had mainly questions related to the film career of Manisha Koirala. She had a great background being the daughter of the Prime Minister of Nepal. Incidentally her family was the royal family. The viewers of Bengal saw her the first time after marriage. She got married this year only.

She disclosed before Sourav Ganguly and the audience that the entry into bollywood films was quite smooth for her, without struggle. She studied in Benaras and stayed in India before joining films. She struggled to maintain the stardom once she attained it after the success of Saudagar, Akele Hum Akele Tum, Khamoshi, etc.

Manisha Koirala shared her experience about working with director Maniratnam who tried to change her image from a soft spoken girl to a terrorist in the film Dil Se. When asked about the superiority of Shahrukh Khan and Amir Khan, she said that Sharukh Khan was crowd puller, but Amir Khan was more versatile, who experimented with his roles.

When asked about the present trend of films, she said there is a tendency among directors to make films on social dramas involving mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, etc., unlike the films that used to be made during her times, that is the 90s. She had been very humble in her conversation and carried the sweet smile that she displayed in majority of her films like Lajja, 1942 A lovestory, etc. Souav Ganguly should be appreciated for handling stars with dignity and politeness. His program continuing for the last few months had been absolute success.

Sourav Ganguly brought singing superstars in Dadagiri on 21st October, 2010. He had brought many superstars, both Bengali and national superstars in the program a number of times.

On 21st October, he brought Kavita Krishnamurty, Debojyotida (Salil Choudhury’s assistant), Shaan, Shovam, Kunal Ganjawala and Mitali Singh (wife of Bhupinder Singh) in the program. Kavita Krishnamurthy sang the rabindrasangeet “sakhi kamona kahare bole” from the film Shreeman Prithviraaj in style. She also sang “pyar hua chupke se” from 1942 A Love Story brilliantly. Kavita Krishnamurthy said that her original name was Sharda. But just became singer Sharda who was associated with composer Shankar Jaikishan was famous during the early 70s, she was asked to change her name to Kavita by singer Hemant Kumar. She changed it and created an identity of her own.

Mitali Singh shared the experience of Bhupinder Singh with RD Burman. Both were friends and sometimes due to the friendly quarrel between the two the singer Asha Bhosle had to wait for sometime while a show was in progress. She admitted that her husband Bhupinder Singh had a distinct bass and tone and listeners admired it. She also disclosed that she was from Maymanshingha in Bangladesh. It was music which brought her and Bhupinder Singh together.

Shaan and Shovam had been friends and during the show they enjoyed the communication of one with the other. Shaan sung the song “musumu suhasi” very well. Shovam sang his song. Kunal Ganjawala won the quiz at the end. He sang the song “bheege hoont tere” in style. Debojtoti Babu played the violin in style and played the song “kahin dur jab din dhal jaye” composed by Salil Choudhury in the film Anand.

Sourav Ganguly was brilliant as a host and kept all the celebrities in good humour. Viewers expect Sourav Ganguly continue his great work of bringing together giants from different spheres of life in Dadagiri program in Zee Bangla.
