Mika Singh rocked Star Ya Rockstar program on Zee TV Channel.
Brilliant singer Mika Singh had rocked Star Ya Rockstar program on Zee TV Channel held on 5th November, 2011. He came as a guest judge along with the main judges Anu Malik and Alisha Chinoy. He sang his successful songs like “jhinka chika jhinka chika”.
On that day all the participants sang the song dedicated to their idols. Ragini Khalla sang the song “hawa hawai” dedicated to her idol Sri Devi who danced on the song sequence in the film Mr. India. Anu Malik and Alisha Chinoy gave good comments to Ragini Khalla.

Kapil Sharma sang the song of his idol Sukhwinder Singh. But he forgot the lyrics of the song in between. Anu Malik said it is cardinal sin on the part of a performer to forget the lyrics. But even then he gave good marks. There was small exchange of words between Mika Singh and Anu Malik. Mika Singh said if Anu Malik thought Michael Jackson was his idol why was he not singing a song of Michael Jackson.
Sachin Pilgaonkar sang the song “o tum kya jaano” sung by RD Burman in the film Hum Kisi Se Kam Nahin. He said RD Burman was his idol. Mansi Parekh sang the song “maiya maiya” from the film Guru composed by AR Rehman and said that AR Rehman was her idol.
On 6th November, 2011, there was elimination. Manish Paul was eliminated. Everyone was sad because as an anchor Manish Paul had shown his sense of humour and he was a very witty person.

Happy birthday to Anu Malik.

Happy birthday to Anu Malik.
The viewers of bollywood films wish happy birthday to Anu Malik on 2nd November, 2010. Anu Malik had created his own identity in the field of music composition in bollywood films. He had given hit songs one after the other in the last 10 years. From the time of Baazigar, Anu Malik showed his versatility in making tunes. He was instrumental in many hit films of Salman Khan.
He composed tunes from all the leading singers of bollywood from 1990s till today which includes Sonu Nigam, Kumar Shanu, Udit Narayan to Alka Yagnik, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan and others. His music had catered to the tastes of different sections of viewers and listeners. If his songs in Salman Khan’s film Biwi No. 1 like “chunari chunari” had folk andaz, then the songs in Salman Khan’s film Janeman had western flavor.
He is a big admirer of Sonu Nigam and while participating in the Indian Idol program as a judge he admitted that Sonu Nigam is the best singer of the country. He had given a number of memorable tunes to Sonu Nigam in his illustrious career. In Border, his song “sandese ate hai” and “hume jab se muhobbat ho gayi hai” picturised on Akshay Khanna and sung by Sonu Nigam, received critics acclamation. In Refugee, he gave he very melodious songs like “mere humsafar mere humsafar”, “panchi nadiya pawan ke jhoke”, etc. which were picturised on Abhishek Bacchan and sung by Sonu Nigam. Sonu Nigam’s memorable performance created a different impact on the minds of the viewers of the film.
Even in Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai, Anu Malik’s composition for Sonu Nigam titled “rabba mere rabba” became superduper hit. Jeetender’s son Tushar Kapoor started his career with the film and Sonu Nigam’s song had given a tremendous break. Anu Malik’s composition for Sonu Nigam in the film Mai Hoon Na, attracted the attention the viewers. The film became hit and the songs were successful. Similarly Anu Malik’s composition of Sonu Nigam’s song “no entry” in the film No Entry picturised on Salman Khan became very very successful. The combination of Anu Malik and Sonu Nigam had given a number of successful songs of different flavours for the last 10 years and the filmlovers expect the combination to continue their good work and as Sonu Nigam is the role model of new singers in India, he has a lot of responsibility in terms of continuing his brilliant performances. The listeners expect Anu Malik to continue the great work that he started long time back.

Songs in Ranbir Kapoor's films.

Songs in Ranbir Kapoor’s films.
Songs play a very vital role in the careers of leading stars of bollywood films. Whenever the name of Raj Kapoor comes in the minds of viewers the songs namely “mera juta hai japani”, “awara hoon”, “mur murke na dekh”, “o mehbooba” comes in the minds of the viewers. Similarly Dilip Kumar is associated with songs like “madhuban me radhika nachere”, “do sitaron ka zameen par hai Milan”, “ek shahenshah ne banwake haseen tajmahal”, “aaj ki raat mere”, etc.
In that respect Ranbir Kapoor is blessed with good songs. He has acted in 4 films till now, namely Sawariya, Bacchna Aye Haseeno, Wake Up Sid, Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani. All these films had very promising songs. The film to be released on 4th June, that is Rajneeti is also full of meaningful songs.
The songs “sawariya” and “jab se tume dekha” in the film Sawariya, had done great business inspite of the film not doing that well. The songs of the film Bacchna Aye Haseeno composed by Vishal Shekhar created storms. All the songs in the film became super hit.
The notable songs in Bachna Aye Haseeno included “khuda jane ke mai fida hoon”, “bacchna aye haseeno”, “ahista ahista”. The excellent lips of the actresses Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone and Minissha Lamba had helped Ranbir Kapoor to maintain balance in the film. Besides, the exotic locations in the film were also appreciated by the viewers.
Wake Up Sid was a serious film and as such the music did not matter that much. Even then the music was very decent in the film. The performance of Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor was very realistic and that created a separate impression in the minds of the viewers.
Pritam did a grand job in the film Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani. It had been the greatest hit of the career of Ranbir Kapoor. All the songs in the film became super hit. The leading song included “prem ki naiya”, etc. The onscreen chemistry of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif had made the viewers speechless.
On 1st May Ranbir Kapoor appeared in Indian idol show, along with renowned composer Pyarellal. He encouraged the participants by dancing with them. His songs were played like “sawariya”, “tera hone laga hoon”, etc. He honoured Pyarellal for giving splendid music in the films of his father Rishi Kapoor, like Bobby, Prem Rog, Karz, Amar Akbar Anthony, etc. Everyone in the show including Anu Malik, Sunidhi Chauhan, Salim Merchant had wished best of luck for Ranbir Kapoor’s new film Rajneeti to be released on 4th June.
The viewers are looking forward to more hit songs in the upcoming films of Ranbir Kapoor in future.

Mallika Sherawat has lot of expectation from Hissss

Mallika Sherawat has lot of expectation from Hissss.
Actress Mallika Sherawat has a lot of expectation from her upcoming film Hissss. She had been in the bollywood industry for more than 5 years and is looking for roles which can establish her as talented actress rather than the glamour-oriented roles which she had done in the past like Murder, Maan Gaye Mughal-i-azam, etc.
Hissss had been directed by Jennifer Lynch and had been produced by Govind Menon and Vikram Singh. The film had been shot simultaneously in hindi and in English. The story was about a snake woman whose mate was captured by an American hunter. The snake woman decided to take revenge on the American hunter.
Mallika Sherawat played the role of the nagin, the snake woman. Irfan Khan played a prominent role in the film. Jeff Doucette played the role of George States in the film. Divya Dutta had a prominent role in the film.
The major shooting of the film had been done in the forests of Kerala. As a matter of fact, Kerala consists of exotic locations and also horror locations. The forest-based landscape had been used to perfection by the director of the film.
Famous special effects designer Robert Kurzman gave an innovative look of the snake woman in the film. Anu Malik scored the music of the film. Madhu Ambat was the cinematographer.
If we look at the history of bollywood films we will find that whenever films were made with the subject matter of snakes, most of them ended up being super hit films. Vaijayantimala stormed the audience with her performance in the film Nagin in 1955. Reena Roy starrer Nagin in the mid-70s ended up being a super hit venture. Sridevi’s performance in the film related to snakes in the mid-80s also did great business.
So Mallika Sherawat’s performance in Hissss can also create attention. Mallika Sherawat also wants to return back to stardom with a bang with the film Hissss. The viewers are waiting for its release later this year.

Is Sunidhi Chauhan still in a dominating position in bollywood music?

Is Sunidhi Chauhan still in a dominating position in bollywood music?
Very strangely the world of bollywood singers had got more competitive and diversified. Few years back the contest for the top female playback singer was between Alka Yagnik, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Alisha Chinoy, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal.
Sunidhi Chauhan, born on August 14th, 1983, stormed bollywood music with her brilliant performance in the song “ruki ruki si zindagi” in Ram Gopal Verma’s film Mast. Her powerful westernized intonation and presentation had created an interest in most composers to cast her in westernized songs and also folk songs.
She made her presence strongly felt in songs like “desi girl” in Dostana, composed by Vishal Shekhar, “race sanson ki” in Race, composed by Pritam, “dance pe chance” in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, composed by Salim Sulaiman, “kaisi peheli” in Parineeta, composed by Shantonu Moitra, to name a few. She got nominations for the best female singer in filmfare awards a number of times.
She won the filmfare award for the best female playback singer in the film Omkara, for the song “beeri jalaile”. But the scenario had changed in the last couple of years. Along with the dominance of ace singers like Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal, Alisha Chinoy and others, new female singers had entered the competitive scenario.
The most popular songs of 2009, had been “genda phool” sung by Rekha Bharadwaj from film Dilli 6, composed by AR Rehman, and “iktaara” sung by Kavita Seth from film Wake Up Sid, composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, creating a new trend in recent times. In addition to that, other singers like Mahalakshmi Iyer, Shilpa Rao, had created stiff competition for the already established singers like Sunidhi Chauhan.
The question that hovers in the minds of music lovers that is Sunidhi Chauhan safe at her dominating position in 2010, when upcoming singers had divided the singing scenario into more compartments. Recently Sunidhi Chauhan had been judging Indian idol contestants with Anu Malik and Salim Merchant herself. She herself is also looking for new voices. Time will tell, when Sunidhi Chauhan can keep up her good work and strong presence felt in bollywood films.

Sonu Nigam require more romantic numbers in 2010.

Sonu Nigam require more romantic numbers in 2010.
There was a time whenever discussion hovered around recent romantic numbers in bollywood films, Sonu Nigam’s name emerged automatically.
It started with “hume jab se muhobbat ho gayi hai” in Border for Akshay Khanna. It continued in Refugee. The songs “panchi nadiya”, “aisa lagta hai”, “mere humsafar” composed by Anu Malik and picturized on Abhishek Bacchan.
After 2000, Sonu Nigam still gave romantic numbers like “piya bole piya bole” in Parineeta, composed by Shantanu Moitra for Saif Ali Khan, “pal pal pal pal pal pal, kaise katega pal” composed by Shantanu Moitra for Sanjay Dutt in Lage Raho Munnabhai.
Even the song “chup chup ke chup chup ke” from Bunty Aur Babli had romantic appeal. It was composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy. Anu Malik’s composition for Sonu Nigam in Salman Khan’s Janeman titled “sau dard hai” had both pathos and romantic appeal embedded in them.
But in the last year excepting “kal nau baje” from the film Short Cut, he did not have striking number of romantic songs. In 2010, he should get back to romantic numbers which are most soothing in the years of listeners. These days very rarely romantic songs were composed.
Sonu Nigam’s song “phir se” in the film Toh Baat Pakki in 2010, or his song in Salman Khan’s film Veer, composed by Sajid Wajid is not as romantic as the songs of the previous films like Tumko Bhula Na Payenge, where the title song had a haunting effect.
Experimental songs do well and show the range of playback singers. But they don’t create a lasting impact. For example, Sonu Nigam’s song “all is well” in The Three Idiots became hit, but his followers want Sonu Nigam to get back to romantic songs where he had been elegant in the 90s. Let us hope for the best.

Arbaaz Khan did well in the film Daraar.

Arbaaz Khan did well in Daraar.
Actor Arbaaz Khan did well in the film Daraar. He acted in a negative role opposite Rishi Kapoor and Juhi Chawla and created an impact in the film.
His rough style of acting gave him an image of his own. His brother Sohail Khan till now had generally done positive characters, but as there had been huge similarity with Salman Khan, he still now had not created his own identity.
The film Daraar, directed by Abbas Mastan was released in 1996. The film was inspired by the Hollywood film Sleeping With The Enemy where actress Julia Roberts played a notable role. Arbaaz Khan received the filmfare award for the best villain for his performance in the film Daraar.
Arbaaz Khan married Juhi Chawla, but whenever he saw any person praising his wife, he got angry. He became over-possessive and did beat Juhi Chawla. He asked her whether she could swim. She said no. Then Juhi Chawla sailed in a boat and later on escaped to Shimla. Arbaaz Khan thought that she had drowned.
Rishi Kapoor met her and wanted to marry her. When Juhi Chawla gave a letter to him mentioning that she was married, Johnny Lever lost the letter and send a wrong letter. Rishi Kapoor declined to marry Juhi Chawla. But when the original letter was found, Rishi Kapoor agreed to marry Juhi Chawla.
Arbaaz Khan read in newspaper that Juhi Chawla was alive. He went to Shimla and wrongly send Rishi Kapoor to prison. He killed Juhi Chawla’s friend. Later on when she tried to kill Juhi Chawla, she was saved by Rishi Kapoor.
The songs sung in the film by Kumar Shanu, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Abhijeet, Sadhna Sargam and others became successful. Music was composed by Sandip Chowta and Anu Malik. Songs were written by Hasrat Jaipuri, Majrooh Sultanpuri and others. The film did good business.
Many of the following roles played by Arbaaz Khan in the future in films like Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya or Hulchul were inspired by the performance in the film Daraar.

Review of Kambakkht Ishq.

Review of Kambakkht Ishq.
Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor had a lot of hope in their upcoming film Kambakkht Ishq to be released in July, 2009. Both of them required a hit film very badly as their performance in 2009 had not been worth saying.
Kambakkht Ishq had been directed by Sabbir Khan and had been produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The main performers included Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Jimmy Shergill, Amrita Arora, Aftab Shivdasani, Kiron Kher, Javed Jaffery and others. Even Hollywood actors like Sylvester Stalon, Denise Richards and Brendon Routh had put on guest performances and added flavor in the film. It had been a remake of the Tamil film Pammal K. Sambandan which was released in 2002.
The film was related to the story of Akshay Kumar, who was a stuntman in Hollywood films and his relationship with Kareena Kapoor who was also a firebrand lady in the film. Both of them believed in the theory that nothing like love relationship do exist between two individuals.
Both of them stuck to this belief and hated each other in the film. The hatred was reflected through a number of fact situations where one tried to win over the other. Both of them faced an encounter during Kareena Kapoor’s friend’s marriage with the brother of Akshay Kumar.
The relationship full of hatred got transformed into love relationship and the mindset got transformed. The performance of Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor had been very natural. All the supporting performers including Jimmy Shergill, Kiron Kher, Aftab Shivdasani, Amrita Arora did a brilliant job.
The locations in US, had a great impact and the viewers will enjoy the scenic beauty. The music composed by Anu Malik had not been great but can balance the performances of the leading actors and actresses in the film. Besides the singers who had sung in the film including Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, KK, Shaan, Neeraj Sridhar, Alisha Chinoy will want to test their popularity in a keenly fought contest that is existing in bollywood music at this period of time.
Eros Entertainment had previously given a number of super hit films. Kambakkht Ishq has all the ingredients of a super hit film and will storm bollywood this summer.

Sonu Nigam and Salman Khan

Sonu Nigam and Salman Khan.
Sonu Nigam is considered to be the most versatile singers of the present period. In the last 10 years he had sung in the films of almost all the leading stars including Hrithik Roshan, Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan. He had sung songs composed by most of the dynamic composers of the country including AR Rehman, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Anu Malik, Vishal Shekhar, Sajid Wajid, etc. But his voice matches the most with Salman Khan.
In the film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, all the songs sung by Sonu Nigam for Salman Khan like “jeene ke hai char din” or “mujhse shaadi karogi”, became super hit. The songs were composed by Sajid Wajid and the lips of Priyanka Chopra added flavor in Salman Khan’s super hit film which was mostly picturised in the sandy locations of Goa. The songs of the film Yuvvraaj, composed by AR Rehman, last year like "shano shano" sung by Sonu Nigam and picturised on Salman Khan also was appreciated by the viewers.
