Usha Utthup Popular singer Usha Utthup and Chandrabindu stormed Zee Banglar Sera Poribar on 10th October, 2012. Usha Utthup had remained an international figure in the world of music. Usha Utthup brought her family members and also the instrumentalists who assisted her in the performances in different places. Anindya Chatterjee and the members of Chandrabindu did a great job. In the katakuti round Chandrabindu Band won huge amount of money by giving right answers. Prasenjit Chatterjee asked Chandrabindu Band why did it take 4 years to create the new music album. Anindya Chatterjee and the other members of the band said that they had 8 albums previously. By that time they had created a brand image. So it took time to compose the songs which were similar to their brand that was created over the years. In the other round Usha Utthup and her team gave excellent answers. Usha Utthup sang the song “darling, ankhonse ankhe char” from the film Saat Khoon Maaf. Usha Utthup also won a number of film awards or the performance in the film Saat Khoon Maa. Udit Narayan sang “ai ajnabi” in Zee Saregamapa Program.

Udit Narayan. Singer Udit Narayan sung his super hit songs in Zee Saregamapa Program on 8th October, 2012. He came as guest judge and the other judges Kumar Shanu and Alka Yagnik greeted him very well. The participants at the beginning of the show sang the songs of Udit Narayan. One of the participants sang Rafi’s song “yamma yamma” from the film Shaan. Alka Yagnik commented that the word “raat” required special stress in the song. Udit Narayan said the words of Anand Bakshi were very philosophical. He said “kal hum kahan tum kahan” was very meaningful and beautiful. The anchor Jishu Sengupta called Udit Narayan on the stage to sing his hit songs. He came and sang the song “ai ajnabi”. He sang it in style. One of the contestants sang Udit Narayan’s hit song “papa keheten hai bara naam karega” from the film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. It was composed by Anand Milind. The song brought Udit Narayan into limelight. The contestant sang very well. Alka Yagnik told him that it was her prediction that he was going to be famous in future. Udit Narayan is known for his simplicity. Both Kumar Shanu and Alka Yagnik greeted him with prestige. Alka Yagnik also sang duet song with Udit Narayan on the stage. Uttam Kumar Choti Si Mulakat Mahanayak Uttam Kumar was remembered on his birth anniversary on 3rd November, 2012. In July, 2012 only Mamta Banerjee, the Chief Minister of Bengal gave Mahanayak awards to Soumitra Chatterjee, Sabitri Chatterjee, Supriya Debi and others. Uttam Kumar had acted in the films of all the legendary directors of the golden age including Satyajit Ray’s Nayak in 1966, Chiriakhana in 1967, Tapan Sinha’s Jhinder Bandi in 1961, Upahaar in 1955 and Jotugriha in 1964, Ajoy Kar’s Harano Sur in 1957, Saptapadi in 1961, Suno Bara Nari in 1960, Agradoot’s Bipasha in 1962, Surjo Toron in 1958, Agragami’s Sagarika in 1956, Shonkhobela in 1966, to name a few. Uttam Kumar acted opposite all the leading actresses of Bengali celluloid including Suchitra Sen, Arundhuti Debi, Manju Dey, Sabitri Chatterji, Supriya Choudhury, Mala Sinha, and others. His combination with Suchitra Sen had given everlasting classics and both of them still remains the most romantic pair in Indian silver screen. Uttam Kumar’s films were based on rich literature including Tagore’s Khokababur Protyaborton, Subodh Ghosh’s Suno Bara Nari, Samaresh Bose’s Kuhak, Sorodindu Bondhopadyay’s Chiriakhana, Shankar’s Chourangi. The films were related to different types of stories including comedy stories, tragic stories, soft romantic stories, etc. Uttam Kumar had acted in around 205 films (including bollywood films like Amanush, Anand Ashram, Choti Si Mulakat, Dooriyan, Kitaab etc., ) in a span of 35 years, and all his films had remained everlasting treasures. Out of his 205 films, around 37 of them ended up being blockbusters, around 50 were super hit films and around 50 were hit films. Actor Shatrughun Sinha in his interview before Bengali media had disclosed that when he was working in Pune Film and Television Institute, the graduates had unanimous view that Uttam Kumar, Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar were the greatest superstars of celluloid and had Uttam Kumar acted in more number of bollywood films, he would have remained as great a legend as Dilip Kumar or Raj Kapoor. His films should be restored and preserved.

Usha Utthup Singer Usha Utthup stormed Zee Bangla Saregamapa Program on 22nd August, 2012. She came, saw and conquered. She was invited to be the guest judge along with the regular judges Kumar Shanu and Joy Sarkar. Jishu Sengupta anchored the program. Usha Utthup sang the “kolavari, kolavari” song. She showed her command over all the languages. She had sung songs in different languages hindi, Bengali, English, South Indian, etc. Jishu Sengupta sang the songs with Usha Utthup on the stage. Kumar Shanu, Sadhna Sargam and Joy Sarkar also welcomed her. Last year Usha Utthup won a number of awards for the song “ankhon se ankhe char karne do” from the film Saat Khoon Maaf. The performers performed before the group of judges. One of the participants sung Mohammad Rafi’s song “parda hai parda”. The song was a qawalli of the film Amar Akbar Anthony. It was picturized on Rishi Kapoor and the music was composed by Laxmikant Pyarellal. Usha Utthup appreciated the performance of the performer. She said the song was difficult to sing and the participant did well. Zee Bangla Saregamapa had gained popularity. Last week Hariharan and Sadhna Sargam stormed the show.
