Happy birthday to Mr Perfectionist star Aamir Khan
Happy birthday to Mr. Perfectionist Star Amir Khan.
The viewers of bollywood films wish happy birthday to Mr. Perfectionist and Committed Star Aamir Khan on 14th of March, 2023. He has proved himself as one of the most committed actors of modern bollywood films. He also carried on the legacy of Tragedy King Dilip Kumar of acting in less number of films and meaningful films. In 2016 his film Dangal broke all records and did business of more than 380 crores. These days whenever Amir Khan’s films are released they end up being blockbusters.
He started his career with the hit film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in 1988 opposite Juhi Chawla. His film had brought back the era of romantic films, after bollywood was loaded with action films for more than 20 years. The music of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak composed by Anand Milind and majority of songs sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik created history. The popular songs included “aye mere humsafar”, “papa kehte hai”, etc. The film did excellent business and Amir Khan became a star at the early part of his career.
From that time onwards Amir Khan acted in many romantic films like Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke, opposite Juhi Chawla, Ishq opposite Juhi Chawla, Dil opposite Madhuri Dixit, Mann opposite Manisha Koirala. Being a relative of Nasir Hussain, Amir Khan showed his acting skills from the beginning of his career. He gave able lips in most of the songs of Udit Narayan and with passage of time showed his versatility in different types of films.
He did extremely well in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s film Lagaan. Lagaan was based on the story of Indian farmers entering into a challenge with the British Govt. during the colonial rule. A cricket match was held between the British team and the Indian peasants. The condition was that if the Indians won it, the farmers would be excused of the share of produce that they supposed to give the landlords and the British Govt. of such. Amir Khan gave training to the rural Indians and ultimately won the match amidst odds.
Amir Khan was sublime in his performance in patriotic film based on the life Mangal Pandey and he did an excellent job in the film Sarfarosh. Even as a director he showed innovative vision by making a film on the subject related to children. The film Taren Zameen Par showed that every child in the world is special. They have their innovative qualities. The job of the teachers and the academicians should be to unearth their skills The songs in the film composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy were also sensational.
Even in 2008, Amir Khan’s film Ghajini was remarkable in nature. He played the role of a person who lost his memory every 20 minutes. He took revenge against the murder of his girlfriend, but he did it with his limitation in respect of the lost memory. He had played probably the role of his career. He came out with even greater hit film in 2009, The 3 idiots. The film had done more than 200 crores business till now. Even more than that the film directed by Raj Kumar Hirani, had a serious social message to give. The message is that the parents should not overburden the students with their own choices. Students should be allowed to specialize in the line they love and enjoy. Although filmfare awards had not been fare to Amir Khan, it does not matter for Amir Khan at all. He is the actor of the refined section of audience and will remain there for periods to come. In 2010, his venture Peepli Live had been ably appreciated by the critics and the audience as a whole.
In 2011, his film Dhobi Ghaat did well in most part of India. He had acted well in the film. He also requested hall owners not to give break in the film, because it takes away the concentration in the film. Talash released in 2012 showed the intensity with which Amir Khan played the role of investigating officer who lost his own son who drowned in water. Amir Khan’s Dhoom 3 released in 2013 did business of more than 280 crores. In 2014 his film PK destroyed all records and did business of more than 330 crores. Raj Kumar Hirani directed the film, and Aamir Khan did a brilliant job in the film. He is a very cultured actor and the viewers have lot of hope on the thoughtful personality for innovative ventures in the years to come.

Shahrukh Khan leads the historyindia.com polls on 100 years of Indian Cinama.

The historyindia.com polls are going to ascertain the most popular personalities of Indian cinema. The poll is going on considering all the leading personalities in 100 years of Indian cinema.
In the category of actors, Shahrukh Khan leads the polls. Amitabh Bacchan is at number 2 position. Aamir Khan is at No. 3 position. Dilip Kumar is at No. 4 position. Raj Kapoor is at No. 5 position.
Shahrukh Khan is surely the most popular icon of the present 20 years. But the polling is a bit unfair in respect of the stars of the 1940s and 1950s.
Most of Shahrukh Khan’s successful films are released in the last 10 years, films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam, Don 2, Veer Zara. The new generation had seen those films and are knowingly voting for their popular icon.
When it comes to Dilip Kumar or Raj Kapoor, most of their super hit films were released more than 50 years ago. The present generation hardly know those films.
Their actual admirers, viewers who had seen Andaz, or Awaara, or Devdas either had grown old, or not that comfortable with online voting or operating the computers.
Inspite of that Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor rank 4 and 5 respectively. That shows the immortal appeal of their films. Most of their films were released in black and white era.
In fact Raj Kapoor’s films and Dilip Kumar’s film had taken Indian films beyond India and got appreciated in Russia, Germany and the Middle East countries. Their films showed class and still reached out before the markets.
Those actors who followed them had got at least a path-bearer whom others could follow.Social issues were brought in films of Raj Kapoor like Awaara, or in films of Dilip Kumar like Naya Daur.
Amitabh Bacchan had been a very popular icon of the 1970s and 1980s. But in today’s polling obviously Sharukh Khan fans will outnumber Amitabh Bacchan fans.

Happy birthday to Sonali Bendre.
The viewers of
bollywood films wish happy birthday to Sonali Bendre on 1st January,
2012. Sonali Bendre showed a lot of promise in the 90s when she joined
bollywood films. She had spontaneity in her performance and did not imitate any
star. She was sublime in Aamir Khan’s
film Sarfarosh.
Sarfarosh was
the film based on the story of an honest police officer who addressed the
corruption existing in the police department itself and the other wings of the
Govt. Sonali Bendre ably assisted Aamir Khan in his noble mission. Jagjit
Singh’s song “husnwale” became very successful.
Her performance
in Sunil Shetty’s film Bhai requires special mention. Although she loved Sunil
Shetty like Pooja Batra but when she knew that Pooja Batra was also attached to
him, she sacrificed her love. She died at the end of the film while fighting
for the cause of Sunil Shetty. In fact she helped Sunil Shetty to learn
urbanized style of living as he came from the hills and was uneducated.
She acted in
completely different role opposite Shahrukh Khan in the film Duplicate.
Shahrukh Khan played a double role in the film, one having an affair with Juhi
Chawla while the other having an affair with Sonali Bendre. She acted opposite
Shahrukh Khan who played the role of the smuggler. From the time the two
characters interchanged Sonali Bendre expressed the astonishment in style. Her
lips in the song “mere mehboob mere sanam” require special mention. Although
the film had mainly comedy element in it, the powerful performance of Sonali
Bendre and Juhi Chawla helped the film to be successful.
Her other hit
films include Hum Saath Saath Hai, opposite Salman Khan, Zakhm with Ajay
Devgan, to name a few. She received the star-screen best supporting actress
award for her brilliant performance in the film Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai. Her
performance in the film was as outstanding as Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai.
After success in
films like Jis Desh Me Ganga Rehta Hai with Govinda, Major Sahab, etc., she
left films in 2002. He appeared in many TV programs in a number of private
channels, in some of them being the judges of those programs. But she was not
found in prominent roles in the films released in the last few years. The
viewers expect her to make a comeback in character roles in future.

Dhobi Ghaat had remained an excellent project.

Dhobi Ghaat had remained an excellent project.
Aamir Khan had proved his inclination of acting only in films which have very strong social message and are meaningful to the mass. For those reasons the people at large appreciated his contemporary films including Tare Zameen Par, The Three Idiots, etc. Dhobi Ghaat had been no exception.
The film had been directed by Kiran Rao. Aamir Khan, Prateik Babbar, Monica Dogra and Kriti Malhotra are the major actors and actresses in the film. Aamir Khan had produced the film.
Aamir Khan played the role of a lonely painter in the film. Monica Dogra played the role of an American Banker who had come to visit Mumbai. Prateik Babbar was a washerboy who stayed close to Aamir Khan.
The story of the film revolved around the lives of the four characters Aamir Khan, Monica Dogra, Prateik Babbar and Kriti Malhotra whose lives got interwined with one another. Every performer in the film had played their roles very well.
Other artists like Kitu Gidwani, Nafisa Khan had played their roles also well. The music of the film has been given by Gustavo Santaollala. Critics had appreciated the movie to a big extent. The shooting had taken place I different parts of Mumbai.
Whether the film does a good business or not; directors, producers and actors should be encouraged to make films like Dhobi Ghaat.

Happy birthday to Pooja Bedi

Happy birthday to Pooja Bedi.
The viewers of bollywood films wish happy birthday to Pooja Bedi, the daughter of legendary actor Kabir Bedi on 11th May, 2010. She was born in a star family with her mother Pratima Bedi being a classical dancerand father being an established actor. Although she came from an acting family as Kabir Bedi had experience of performing in Hollywood films as well, her contribution in bollywood films had not been that substantial.
Her film Vishkanya in the early part of her career was based on the story related to snakes. In Indian films fantasies based on the life of snakes had amazed the viewers in the past. The film Nagin in the mid-70s, with Reena Roy, Jeetender, Mumtaz and others, did fantastic business. So Pooja Bedi was lucky to start her career with such films.
Later on her film with Amir Khan, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, did fantastic business. The film was based on teenage romance. Amir Khan always had a special place in the minds of viewers as his romantic appeal always attracted the female audience right from the release of the film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Pooja Bedi probably had given her best. Pooja Bedi’s role of a teenage girl did fit the requirement of the story and the film. All the songs in the film became successful including the song “pehla nasha, pehla khumar” sung by Udit Narayan.
Her other notable films included Aatank Hi Aatank and Lootere. She was very impressive in Mahesh Bhatt’s film Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Ayee. It was a film related to human relationship and Pooja Bedi’s performance in a supporting role was appreciated by the critics. She was as impressive as Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Roy in the film.
In the late 90s, all of a sudden she faded away from the industry. But she continued to appear in television shows. She was the anchor of the TV shows Not Just Page 3 and Just Pooja in Zoom TV. These programs became very popular in the years when they were telecast. In the following period she even participated as contestant in TV shows like Jhalak Dikhlaja in Sony TV, Heart Beat, Mum Tum or Hum, Jodi Kamaal Ki, Nach Baliye, etc., in Star TV, also Fear Factor – Khatron Ki Khiladi in Colors.
The viewers expect her make a comeback in bollywood films in the years to come.

Amir Khan and Juhi Chawla.
Amir Khan and Juhi Chawla.

Amir Khan and Juhi Chawla performed together in a number of films and were accepted by the Indian audience as a romantic pair. They started their journey with film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in 1988.
The film involved a romantic relationship between teenagers who had to face a number of social obstacles. The songs composed by Anand Milind in the film played a big role in the success of the film including songs like “akele hai”, “papa kehte hai bara naam karega” sung by Udit Narayan and others.

The same pair again featured in the film Ishq, where Kajol and Ajay Devgan were the other performers. The film was based on the story of a rich father played by Sadashiv Amrapurkar who hated poor people. But Ajay Devgan, his son entered into an affair with Kajol, who came from a middle-class family. In case of Amir and Juhi initially they were involved in a number of quarrels as they visited Ooty and the differences transpired into love at the end of the film. The songs in the film “ishq hua, kaise hua”, etc., became very very successful. Also the action sequence in the film caught the attraction of the crowd.

Amir and Juhi were also successful in the film Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke. It involved the romantic relationship between them and the story of rearing up of a number of children who stayed with them. The songs in the film like “ghunghar ke aar pe dil barkha” became very very successful.

From the mid-90s, Amir reduced his performance in the major number of films and he performed in only selective roles. Juhi reduced her performance and sometimes featured in character roles. The viewers still expect the pair to perform together in more films in the years to come.
