Rafi in the late 70s.

Rafi in the late 70s.

In the late 70s Rafi was sublime in his outstanding songs that he sang for Rishi Kapoor. He sang the song “parda hai parda” very well which was one of the most brilliant qawallies composed by Laxmikant Pyarellal. The other songs in the film “o humko tumse ho gaya hai pyar kya Karen”and “shirdiwali saibaba” became extremely successful. Rishi Kapoor developed himself as one of the leading romantic actors of the period and Rafi complimented the romantic passion of Rishi Kapoor with his golden voice.

The other successful songs of Rafi for Rishi Kapoor include “hai agar dushman zamana” and “sochenge pyar kya hua” in the film Zamane Ko Dikhana Hai. Rishi Kapoor again gave brilliant lips in the qawalli of Rafi.

Rafi sang a landmark song in the film Karz titled “darde dil dared jigar” which was composed by LP. RD Burman composed the song “pal do pal ka” a brilliant song in the film Burning Train, where Asha complimented Rafi in the song which was picturised on Jeetender and Neetu Singh.

The other hit songs of Rafi include “koel boli”, “dafliwale dafli baja” and “ramjiki nikli sawari” from the film Sargam. Rishi Kapoor matched the brilliant dancing skills of Jaya Prada in the film.

Rafi was also sublime in songs he had sung in the film Desh Premi, Naseeb and other noted films. Had Rafi survived for a longer time he could have sung more number of unforgettable numbers.
