Shahrukh Khan's Chennai Express started with a bang.

Chennai Express started with a bang. Superstar Shahrukh Khan and superstar Salman Khan had proved themselves to be the greatest crowd pullers of all times. There was time when there was a huge debate who was a greater crowd-puller, was it Dilip Kumar or Raj Kapoor. Both of them ruled Bollywood films during 1940s 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. These days the maximum amount of profit in Bollywood films had accrued in the films of Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan. For the last 3 to 4 Eids in the months of August, it had been Salman Khan magic. His films Wanted, Dabaang, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger, all were released at this time and one broke the record of the other. In 2013, Eid had been the Eid of Shahrukh Khan. Chennai Express had been released on 9th August, 2013, and on the first day the film did business of 33 crores. It has broken the record of Ek Tha Tiger which did business in 2012 in Eid, worth 31 crores. Later on Ek Tha Tiger did total business of 199 crores. If the trend of Chennai Express continues it has the capability of breaking the record of Amir Khan’s all time blockbuster The Three Idiots which had done business worth 202 crores. Chennai Express had been directed by Rohit Shetty, produced by Gauri Khan, Ronnie Screwala and Siddharth Roy Kapoor. Vishal Shekhar composed the music of the film. In the film Shahrukh Khan played the role of a North Indian man, whose parents were lost during childhood. His grandparents brought him up. His grandfather had a business of sweets, and he died at the age of 99 years. His grandmother played by Kamini Kaushal asked him to wash the ashes of his deceased grandfather in the sea at Rameshwaram. He took it but was interested to go to Goa with his two friends. But his boarded the Chennai Express to show Kamini Kaushal to show her that he was really going to Rameshwaram. On the Kalyan Station Deepika Padukone rode on the train with four of her relatives send by her father to bring her back to the village of Komban. Her father played by Satyaraj in Kumban was the don of the village. He wanted to get her married to Nikitin Dheer who played the character of Tangaballi. The rest of the film was related to Shahrukh khan’s struggle of running away and escaping with Deepika Padukone to different places. He could succeed to immerse the ashes of his grandfather in the holy waters of Rameshwaram. But after that he returned back to Komban with Deepika to face the don and his men. He fought against the men of Nikitin Dheer and showed that that neither was he a body builder, not very strong, but being a common man he loved Deepika and for her he took up the challenge of even facing Nikitin Dheer who was a giant bodybuilder. Satyaraj accepted Shahrukh Khan as his son-in-law due to his courage and big heart. The performances of Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Satyaraj and Nikitin Dheer were excellent. The scenic beauty of the excellent locations of Ooty, Rameswaram, Dudh Sagar Falls enchanted the viewers. Rohit Shetty did a marvellous job. The music of Vishal Shekhar was impressive. Priyamani in the dance sequence of the song “1 2 3 4” showed her immense talent. The comedy dialogues in the film were excellently written. There is no reason why the film should not do business of more than 150 crores. Time will tell whether it can bypass Ek Tha Tiger and The Three Idiots in respect of maximum business. Viewers should watch the film.

Ajay Devgan’s Bol Bacchan will reach 100 crores club.

Ajay Devgan, Asin, Prachi Desai in Bol Bacchan. Ajay Devgan’s film Bol Bacchan got a brilliant opening. In the first three days it had collected 50 crores. It is destined to cross the 100 crore mark. 2012 had been a fabulous year for bollywood. Agneepath, Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore did business more than 100 crores. Kahaani did business of more than 70 crores and been super hit. Bol Bacchan also follows the list. Director Rohit Shetty and actor Ajay Devgan had a magic combination always. Bol Bacchan had showed the magic once again. Abhishek Bacchan got a long awaited super hit film. In the film it had been shown that Ajay Devgan had been a Rajput of Ranakpur of Rajasthan. He had enmity with his brother. Abhishek Bacchan was a muslim who lost his house through treachery of his uncle and came with his relative Asrani for a job in Ranakpur. He opened the lock of a temple to save a drowning child. Ajay Devgan spotted him and gave him employment. From then Abhishek went on telling lies after lies. He personated two brothers also, one having a moustache, the other not having it, like Amol Palekar in the film Golmaal. At the end the truth was unfolded. There was romantic scene of Ajay Devgan with Asin, and Abhishek Bacchan with Prachi Desai. But it was out and out a comedy film. Ajay Devgan’s erroneous English and Abhishek Bacchan’s comedy performance made everyone laugh. Music was composed by Himesh Reshammiya and Ajay Atul. The song “chalao na naino se” sung by Himesh Reshammiya and Shreya Ghoshal became hit. The performances of Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bacchan, Archana Puran Singh, Asrani, Krushna Abhishek was excellent. The locations were beautifully taken in City Palace in Jaipur, Amer Fort in Amher, etc. The film had provided entertainment for the audience.

Golmaal 3 is more hilarious than Golmaal 1 and 2.

Golmaal 3 is more hilarious than Golmaal 1 and 2.

Director Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 3 is more hilarious than Golmaal 1 and 2. The film had been shot in Goa. In the film Mithun Chakravarty and his sons were involved in scams involving fake history question papers.

When Mithun Chakravarty reprimanded them for selling fake question papers to students, Arshad Warsi said that he was going to teach the students never to take short cuts. His other two brothers namely Tushar Kapoor and Kunal Khemu helped him in executing the scam.

Within short distance, brothers Ajay Devgan and Shreyas Talpade with friend Kareena Kapoor ran a water-rides business. They clashed with Arshad Warsi and men when they did the same business on the beach.

The characteristics of Ajay Devgan, Tushar Kapoor, Arshad Warsi and Shreyas Talpade, part of the team of Golmaal returns were retained. Some fresh characteristics were also created in this film. Kareena Kapoor hurled abused at frequent intervals in the film. Shreyas Talpade stammered in the film. Tushar Kapoor continued his language ‘a-i-o’.

Johnny Lever did well in his role of a patient of lost memory. Sometimes he at one point he thought he was a thief, at other time he thought Ajay Devgan was a bus conductor. Mithun Chakravarty did his part very well. The other actors and actresses including Arshad Warsi, Ajay Devgan, Sheyas Talpade and Kareena Kapoor had played comedy roles in tandom at one time. So the performance in this film is not that challenging for them.

Pritam’s music was fine with impressive songs like “apna har din” sung by Anushka Manchanda and Shaan, “desi kaali” sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Neeraj Shreedhar. All the films directed by Rohit Shetty relating to Golmaal series did great business. Golmaal 3 is also expected to do better business with the star cast and powerful performances.

All the best got a good opening.

All the best got a good opening.

To the amazement of most of the viewers of bollywood films, the film All the best got a brilliant opening, when released on the same date with the film Blue and Mr. Aur Mrs Khanna. Most of the viewers thought that the other two films would have got a greater opening.

In this film Sanjay Dutt had been shown as a businessman in London. His brother Fardeen Khan always wanted money from Sanjay Dutt. Sanjay Dutt did not marry anyone but pretended to have married Mugdha Godse.

Ajay Devgan was a dealer of cars. He was married to Bipasha Basu. Due to financial debts both Ajay Devgan and Sanjay Dutt borrowed money from the local gangstar Johnny Lever. From there the problems of both the gentlemen started.

The rest of the film was related to the story of how the two individuals Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan managed to face Johnny Lever in relation to their debts. The film had been directed by Rohit Shetty. Ajay Devgan produced the film along with acting in it.

The character actors and actresses in the film did exceeding well including Asrani, Mukesh Tiwari, Ashwini Kalsekar, Sanjay Mishra, to name a few. Pritam had composed the music of the film and one of the songs titled “All the best” had already become a hit.

There are two reasons for the success of the film All the best over Blue and other films. One reason is that the lives of most of the middle-class Indians had been stressed out. They find relief in seeing comedy films over other types of films. So action films and romantic films do not have the same market as comedy films.
The other factor had been the combination of Rohit Shetty with Ajay Devgan and other group of actors. He had used them in Golmaal which was a hit, and therefore knew how to make the best use of their acting talent.
