He had acted in very successful films in the recent past, but for some reason or the other did not get the acknowledgement he deserved. 2011 had not been a great year for Shahid Kapoor. He acted in his father Pankaj Kapoor’ film Mausam, but the film did not do great business. In 2012 he requires a successful film to regain the stardom. He was on top of the world with the success of his film Kaminey opposite Priyanka Chopra few years back. His performance in the film Jab We Met almost pulled the film across the country. His decency and composure in the film was worth mentioning. Yet when the question of recognition did arise the entire credit was taken up by Kareena Kapoor. She received the filmfare award for the best actress for her performance in the film. Even Pritam who composed melodious songs in the film was unrewarded. Shahid Kapoor’s other successful films included Chup Chup Ke. For most part of the film he pretended to be a deaf and dumb person. He worked with Rajpal Yadav in the house of Om Puri and got associated with Kareena Kapoor. Later in the film his identity was disclosed. His performance in that film was also extraordinary. The other successful films of Shahid Kapoor include Kismat Connection with Vidya Balan, 36 China Town with Kareena Kapoor, to name a few. In 36 China Town, Shahid Kapoor along with Kareena Kapoor were suspected for murdering a woman in the house. The investigation was carried out by Akshay Khanna and later the servants of the house were found as the actual murderers. The film was serio-comic in nature with Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever also contributing in respective roles. Shahid Kapoor had outstanding dancing skills. He exhibited it in films like Jab We Met, 36 China Town, etc. With serious competition in the bollywood industry Shahid Kapoor badly needs a big hit in the future to maintain his stardom. He had established himself as a romantic actor. He has to contribute well in action films, political films and other types of films in future. Besides he had been associated with Kareena Kapoor all along his career. He has to create a combination with other actresses in the bollywood industry as well to show his versatility. He has a bright future in bollywood industry.

Priyanka Chopra was the leading actress of bollywood films in 2008. She not only acted in more than 5 years in 2008, but also received the filmfare award for the best actress for her performance in the film Fashion.

The films in which she had acted in the last year include Love Story 2050, Chamku, Fashion, Dostana, etc. Some of the films did extraordinary business, while the other ones flopped last year. But her performance in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion appealed before the commercial audience as well as the critics. But things change a lot in a year or so in bollywood films.

None of her films were released in 2009, before Kaminey. In 5 or 6 months the viewers forget the good work of the number one actress of the previous year and look for a new actress to fill the number one slot. In that respect Priyanka Chopra’s challenge to maintain the number one spot is great.

In Kaminey, she had acted opposite Shahid Kapoor who had played a double role. One of the twin brothers were involved in unlawful activities while the other was happy doing corporate job. Priyanka Chopra adapted herself to the requirement of the film just like in the past. The music of the film was has been very popular. The film has all the possibility of becoming a blockbuster.

It is possible for Priyanka Chopra to maintain the number one spot, although Katrina Kaif can return back with success in the film Blue. For the early part of the year, Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor were winners with the films New York and Kambaqth Ishq respectively.

Let us hope with the increase in competition all these actresses give their best and entertain the viewers in the year 2009.

Vishal Bharadwaj had addressed the viewers of bollywood films with his new film Kaminey after some time. It is based on the story of two twin brothers who hate each other.

Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra had been cast in the lead roles in the film. Shahid Kapoor played the double roles of Guddu and Charlie. Guddu started his life from the famous slum in Mumbai called Dharavi, but joined a NGO firm. He was honest, generous and hardworking. He had the ambition of crossing the different levels and reaching higher summits in the corporate world.

On the other hand Charlie was involved in betting in the race course. He wanted to climb the ladder of success with a short-cut route. His ambition was to be a legitimate bookie and get recognition. He had the skills for the job and did well.

Both the brothers had defects in their speech. Guddu stammered whenever he was nervous. Charlie also had other kinds of communication problems. Both the brothers hated each other. On one day, Charlie faced a problem with his rival bookies and also was chased by cops.

While Guddu was involved in street play his girlfriend Sweety Bhope came and said that she became pregnant. When he wanted to marry her, he found there was new problem. Her brothers were dons, and chased him for the unfortunate happenings.

It was at that part of the film where the two brothers who hated each other came closer. The performance of Shahid Kapoor in double role was very impressive. Priyanka Chopra was full of energy as usual.

Vishal Bharadwaj’s story and direction has the elements of success. The music also has been given by Vishal Bharadwaj, which was equally impressive. The lyrics are written by Gulzar.

In a nutshell it can be said that the film will be a hit film and viewers should go to the halls and watch the film.
