Sharmila Tagore stormed Zee Bangla Mirakkel Program.
Sharmila Tagore.
Successful actress Sharmila Tagore stormed Zee Bangla Mirakkel Program on 5th March, 2012. Mir Afsar Ali asked him whether any actors were mad about her. She said there was no actor as such. But she herself was big admirer of Shashi Kapoor. When Shashi Kapoor came in the sets of Kashmir Ki Kali, she forgot her dialogue. As a result director Shakti Samanta asked Shashi Kapoor to leave. His elder brother Shammi Kapoor was the hero of the film. Mir even sang Mohammad Rafi’s song “yeh chand sa roushan chehera” before Sharmila Tagore.
Mir asked Sharmila Tagore whether she was the direct descendant of Rabindranath Tagore. Sharmila said she came from the clan of Gaganendranath Tagore, the relative of Rabindranath Tagore.
Mir also asked that the scene of toy train in Aradhana was done in Studio or not. She said yes. She said that Satyajit Ray was shooting for Aranyer Dinratri, while Shakti Shamanta was shooting for Aradhana. The days coincided. So she went for Aranyer Dinratri. Rajesh Khanna gave live shot for the song “mere sapno ki rani kab ayegi tu”. But her scene was shot inside studio separately. Sharmila added that it was good that the film Aradhana became hit. Otherwise Shakti Shamanta would have filed suit against her.
Sharmila was also asked whether she was in the sets of the shooting of the film Chupke Chupke in 1975, when the song “saregama” was sung. She said she was with both Dharmender and Amitabh Bacchan in the sets. She was also asked about her first shot in Satyajit Ray’s Apur Sangsar. She said she was only 13 years old when she gave the shot. But Ray made the scene very easy. She also mentioned that recently she had met Rajesh Khanna and he was fine.
