Aarakshan got medium response.
Aarakshan got medium response.
The film Aarakshan got medium response after being released a week ago. The film had been directed by Prakash Jha. It had been produced by Prakash Jha and Firoz Nadiawala.
In the film Amitabh Bachan had been the principal of a college. He had soft corner for financially weak students. He liked Saif Ali Khan who taught in that college for sometime before going to USA. His daughter Deepika Padukone loved Saif Ali Khan. Prateek Babbar, a high caste student also studied in the college.
After the Supreme Court gave verdict in favour of reservation, the college faced unrests. Big spoke rudely with Saif Ali Khan and the relationship between Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone broke up. Big B was asked to step down from the post of Principal as he took private tution of weak students. He started teaching in a cow shed. Manoj Bajpai used his influence to disturb that coaching class too. At the end of the film a Trust was being created by Hema Malini where Big B was asked to teach.
The music of the film had been composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy. Some of the songs were impressive like “accha lagta hai” sung by Mohit Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal, “roshanee” sung by Shankar Mahadevan, “kaun si dor” sung by Channulal Mishra.
Around Rs 42 crores were spend in the film. In the first week Rs 50 crore was recovered. The performance of Big B, Manoj Vajpayee, Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone were very impressive. But the film did not get the same type of response if compared with Rajneeti which did business worth Rs 70 crores. Praksha Jha’s direction had been excellent.
The subject matter of the film that is reservation, had remained a controversial subject for the last 20 years. In that perspective Prakash Jha’s film had a strong social message. The viewers should watch the film.
