Ritesh Deshmukh – the successful actor of recent years.
Ritesh Deshmukh had shown his potentiality of performing in different types of roles in the bollywood films made over the last few years. He did well in his early films like Tujhe Meri Kasam, Masti, etc., but got critical acclamation for his performance in the film Malamaal Weekly.
Malamaal Weekly had a unique story of a villager in a remote part of India won a loterry ticket and died. The ticket seller played by Paresh Rawal and his friend Om Puri came to know about it. They tried to kept it secret but huge number of villagers came to know about it including Ritesh Deshmukh who loved Om Puri’s daughter. The villagers decided to ask Om Puri to pose as the lottery winner and get the amount from the respective authority (Arbaaz Khan) who came from the city to give the cheque. The landlady of the village came to know about it and tried to inform Arbaaz about it but got drowned in a river while traveling by a two-wheeler. There were silly incidents at every part of the film and Ritesh had adjusted himself with the requirement of comedy performance in the film.
He also did well in Bluff Master with Abhishek and Priyanka Chopra, and Darna Zaroori Hai, directed by Ram Gopal Verma. Producers and directors had acknowledged the comedy conception of Ritesh and given him comedy roles during the recent years. In Dhamaal, he was one of the friends who wanted to get the treasure of lumpsome money from Goa. He traveled along with Javed Jaffery, Arsdhad Warsi, and others and was stopped at every point by Sanjay Dutt, the police officer in the film. There were funny incidents in the film and Ritesh had made them look lively. For example he jumped from a tree to get into a bus which was traveling to Goa and tried to pay for ticket, but realized that the Bus had been hijacked and there were dacoits instead of conductors.
In Apna Sapna Money Money, he played the role of Kishen and changed his make up a number of times in the film to continue his affair. There was strong performance from other actors like Anupam Kher, Chunkey and others.
Over the last few years, comedy films had done very well in box-office and the capability of Ritesh Deshmukh to adapt to different conditions had made him an indispensable part of these films. Viewers expect even better performance in the years to come.
