The viewers of bollywood films wish happy birthday to Govinda on 21^st December, 2011. For the last 20 years he had entertained bollywood viewers with his remote style of comedy performance and dancing.

Govinda came to limelight with his impressive performance in the film Ankhen along with Chunkey Pandey. Both Govinda and Chunkey were thrown out of their homes by their father Kader Khan, due to their mischievous acts. They witnessed the kidnapping of the CM played by Raj Babbar. In his place another person was brought who had similarity in looks. Govinda and Chunkey saved the CM and killed the imposter.

Govinda had a brilliant relationship with director David Dhawan. David Dhawan had used Govinda in most of his comedy films, and the dance performance and comedy performance of Govinda charmed the audience. His film Hero No. 1 with Karishma Kapoor became super hit. All the songs of the film including “sona kitna sona hai”, “mai to raste se jaa raha tha”, became very popular. The other films of Govinda like Aunty No.1, Cooli No. 1, also showed his charishma in comedy acting.

Govinda also acted in serious films like Andolan with Sanjay Dutt. He played the role of an engineer who had to compromise with the corrupt builders while building bridges. His revolt against the system was the subject matter of the film. He acted in a number of films with Sanjay Dutt and most of the films did good business. Some of those films included Ek Aur Ek Gyarah, Haseena Maan Jayegi, etc.

Govinda’s film Bare Miya Chote Miya with Big B and Raveena Tandon, and Deewane Mastane with Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla, did fantastic business as well. In the recent past Govinda’s performance in David Dhawan’s film Partner with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif stormed bollywood. He required the guidance of a love guru played by Salman Khan to impress Katrina Kaif. The songs of the film like “do you want a partner”, “you are my love” became super hit, and Govinda’s dance performances in those songs were excellent. Salman Khan asked the director David Dhawan to increase the role of Govinda in the film, and he justified it by playing his character in style.

Govinda played his role in the film Salaam-e-Ishq in style. The film had all the leading actors of bollywood industry including Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Sohail Khan, John Abraham and Akshay Khanna. In that league of actors Govinda proved his worth by romancing with a foreigner girl who was given shelter by a taxi-driver.

In 2009, Govinda’s films Life Partner, and Do Not Disturb with Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta, did mediocre business. He acted well in his small role in the film Raavan in 2010, and the viewers expect another cameo in the sequel of Partner. Viewers expect that with his busy work as a politician, as he was an MP elected with a Congress Ticket, he can still devote time for films and continue the work of entertainment in the years to come.

The horror effect created by Hollywood film Cuzo was very unique. The film had been directed by Lewis Teague in 1983 based on the novel Cuzo written by Stephen King.

In the film the dog Cuzo was bitten by bats having rabies and it got the disease itself. Dee Wallace was married to Daniel Hugh Kelly. They had one small son played by Danny Pintauro. Dee Wallace had an affair with her ex-boyfriend in the film. Billy Jacoby, the son of motor mechanic had friendship with the dog Cuzo.

Both Billy Jacoby and his mother went to Connecticut to visit his mother’s sister. During that time Cuzo being infected with Rabies killed his father and one of his friends. Daniel Kelly went out of station when the car of Dee Wallace created problems and had to be brought to the same garage where Cuzo stayed. The mother and the child were attacked by Cuzo. Dee Wallace closed the window glass and got respite but that was only for few hours. They had to stay in the car locked for more than a day.

The boyfriend of Dee Wallace came to their house and ransacked it. Daniel Hugh Kelly came back and complained before the police. The boyfriend was arrested. The sheriff came to the garage and got killed by Cuzo. At last Dee Wallace gathered courage and fought with Cuzo with a heavy stick and then shot it with the Sheriff’s gun. Daniel Hugh Kelly arrived in the last scene.

Excellent performance of Dee Wallace and Danny Pintauro require special mention. Their extreme struggle against the violent dog looked absolutely natural and realistic. The film did excellent business. The film should be preserved and restored.

Naomi Watts was excellent in Kingkong 2005 which was a great effort.

The film Kingkong 2005 was a great effort. The film was directed by Peter Jackson. The film was a remake of the 1933 film on Kingkong. The excellent performance of actress Naomi Watts created a special place in the hearts of viewers.

In this film actress Naomi Watts was hired by filmmaker Jack Black. While the entire crew was travelling in a ship, with Naomi Watt’s favourite actor Jack Driscoll, they got lost in a fog, and crashed in a rock. The crew entered an island and the indigenous tribes kidnapped Naomi Watts and sacrificed her to huge giant Kingkong.

Kingkong fought against a number of dinosaurs and giant invertebrates to save Naomi Watts. Then Jack Black and his men captured Kingkong and brought him to New York. In USA, Jack Black presented Kingkong in chains as eighth wonder of the world. But Naomi Watts refused to act in the play and Kingkong got angry to see another lady and broke the shackles. Kingkong destroyed Times Square. He met Naomi Watts in Central Park.

Then Kingkong climbed Empire State Building. The military fired at him and he died at the end. The film received Academy awards for Visual Effects, Sound Mixing. But the film was too long, and probably the Kingkong 1976 version was a better one. Most of the shooting in that film took place in day light as against the 2005. Very significantly the acting of Kingkong was done by a Gorilla, as against a human being who did it in Kingkong 1976. Technology developed in 2005, but at times the film became boring. Even then the performances of Naomi Watts, Jack Driscoll and Jack Black were excellent. Naomi Watts looked very pretty in the film also. The director could convince the audience a subject related to fantasy. The film should be preserved.
