Diya Mirza – the sweet performer of bollywood.
Diya Mirza is one of the sweet actresses of recent times who had made decent contribution in bollywood films for the last few years. She was model and was second runner up in the Miss India beauty contest in 2000.
She started her career in the film Rehna Hai Tere Dil Me in the role of Reena Malhotra. She impressed the viewers with her innocent performance in the film Tumko Na Bhool Payenge. In that film Salman Khan was shot and he lost his memory after the incident. Somehow he survived and the members of the family who rescued him treated him like his son.
Diya Mirza ably supported Salman during the period when he lost his memory. The family with whom he lived lost their son in military operation and identified their own son with Salman. Salman went to Bombay to unearth the truth about his past. He remembered that he and his freidn were appointed by the Home Minister for shooting an important person and his friend shot him and married Sushmita Sen who was supposed to marry Salman.
Salman took revenge against his friend but in the process lost Sushmita who died in the encounter. Salman returned back to the family who helped him in the past and met Diya Mirza again. The song in the film “are are yeh kya hua re”, sung by Sonu Nigam became very big hit.
Diya Mirza also featured in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film Parineeta in a small role, as the central characters were played by Vidya Balan, Sanjay Dutt and Saif Ali Khan. She also acted in successful films like Dus and Fight Club.
She got an important role in Lage Raho Munna Bhai, where she played the role of the daughter of Boman Irani, who arranged marriage for her on the basis of false horoscope as the astrologer of the husband’s family considered her unlucky for their son. But ultimately she was married to the same person due to effort of Sanjay Dutt who showed Gandhigiri in the film. With Krazzy 4 and other films to be released in 2008, Diya Mirza is expected to do even better in her following films.
