Yash Chopra Dilip Kumar
Recently on 21st October, 2012, the great filmmaker Yash Chopra died. He had come saw and conquered. One of the reasons of his immense success of films lied in the beautiful music given in majority of films. His film Dhool Ka Phool in 1959 created sensation. Apart from the successful performances of Rajender Kumar, Manmohan Krishan and Mala Sinha, the beautiful songs composed by N Dutta contributed in the success of the film. Rafi’s song “tu hindu banega na mussalman banega” became a cult song.
Waqt in 1965 stormed box-office. This time Yash Chopra used Ravi Shankar Sharma as composer. All the songs of Rafi, Mahender Kapoor and Asha Bhosle became super hit. Manna Dey’s song “o meri zohr-jabi” amused the viewers. The songs of Aadmi Aur Insaan in 1969 also became hit. Dharmender, Saira Banu and Feroz Khan were the lead performers in the film.
In 1976, Kabhi Kabhi became a musical hit. Khayyam’s composition; Mukesh and Lata’s song “kabhi kabhi mere dil me” created magic. The lyrics of Sahir Ludhianvi were excellent.
In 1981, Yash Chopra used Shiv Hari in the film Silsila. Yash Chopra used other composers in the following films.
The excellent locations both in India and abroad, the brilliant music, beautiful stories and powerful performances in Yash Chopra still haunts filmlovers in India.
