On the day of Mahalaya, on 15th October, 2012, Dwijen Mukherjee, Manashi Mukherjee, Saikat Mitra, Sumitra Sen, Banasree Sengupta, Ashima Mukherjee, Jagannath Basu and others gave their interview before ABP Bangla Channel.
Most of the singers participated in the program Mohishashur Mordini created by Birendra Kishore Bhadra, Bani Kumar and Pankaj Mallick which is still being broadcast on the day of Mahalaya by All India Radio. Manobendra Mukherjee’s daughter Manashi Mukherjee her father’s song “taba achinto” which was part of Mohishashur Mordini. She said her father used to be in tears when Pankaj Mallick finally sang the song “rupang dehi, jayang dehi”. In the initial years the singers of Mohishashur Mordini were picked up from their houses at 1.30 at night and they had a bath, were white clothes and sang the songs.
Ashima Mukherjee shared her experience of asking superstar Uttam Kumar to do the strotyopath which was originally done by Birendra Bhadra. In 1976 the incident happened. Jagannath Basu said, being an employee of All India Radio he read the abusive letters of people, who wanted Birendra Bhadra’s Mohishashur Mordini to be telecast and from the next years the requests of the people were fulfilled.
Banasree Sengupta shared her experience of singing song with Manobendra Mukherjee in the second Mohishahur Mordini created in 1976. The interview of Supriti Ghosh was shown which was recorded as she died during the time of the interview.
Dwijen Mukherjee sang the song “jago tumi jago”. Saikat Mitra sang the song of Mohishashur Mordini which was sung by Shyamal Mitra with Ashima Mukherjee. Sumitra Sen sang her song in Mohishashur Mordini. It was a great effort of ABP Bangla Channel to bring all the singers who contributed in Mohishashur Mordini.
