Sunil Dutt rose to stardom after his brilliant performance in Mehboob Khan’s classic film Mother India in 1957. He played the role of the son of Nargis Dutt who struggled to rear up her two sons after her husband Raj Kumar’s death. Nargis Dutt married Sunil Dutt in real life after the film. The film had been remade in colour sometime back. In the 60s Sunil Dutt acted in musical blockbusters like Hindustani. All the songs in the film became hit including Mukesh’s song “hum Hindustani”. He acted in Bimal Roy’s film Sujata opposite Nutan and gave good lips in Talat Mehmood’s song “jalte hai jiske liye”. His film Mera Saya directed by Raj Khosla bewildered the viewers in the mid-60s. His wife Sadhna died and her sister was used by Prem Chopra to frighten Sunil Dutt. Sunil Dutt gave good lips in Rafi’s song “aapke pehlu me aakar” composed by Madanmohan. In the film Chirag, Rafi’s song “teri aankhon ke siva duniya me rakha kya hai” composed by Madanmohan had flabbergasted the audience in the late 60s and added popularity for Sunil Dutt. Madanmohan’s music in Sunil Dutt’s film Ghazal was equally impressive. Rafi’s song “rang aur nor ki barat” was one of the most landmark ghazals of the 60s. Sunil Dutt did a great in BR Chopra’s films like Gumraah, Humraaz and Waqt. In all these films the music was composed by Ravi and Mahendra Kapoor sung landmark songs for Sunil Dutt including “chalo ekbar phir se”. From the early 70s, Sunil Dutt switched on to action films like Zakhmee, Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye, Nagin, etc., most of which were successful. In the 80s, Sunil Dutt acted in the role of the elder brother of Shashi Kapoor and Big B in Ramesh Sippy’s film Shaan. He was an honest police officer, who was killed by Kulbhushan Kharbanda in the film. His other successful films during that time included Dard Ka Rishta which was related to cancer, the disease with which Nargis Dutt died in early 80s. Sunil Dutt became MP a number of times and done a lot of social work for India. He also made huge contribution in eradication of cancer in India. He was shocked when his son Sanjay Dutt got arrested in TADA case and ill-treated in prison. He produced films for his son like Rockey. He acted in the successful film of his son Lage Raho Munnabhai in a guest role. The viewers remember Sunil Dutt and expect restoration of his great works that spread over 50s years.

He received the filmfare award for the best composer for his brilliant composition in the film Julie in the mid-70s. He composed excellent music in Rishi Kapoor’s film Aap Ke Diwane. Rishi Kapoor, Rakesh Roshan and Tina Munnim were the lead performers in the film. All the songs sung by Mohammad Rafi and Kishore Kumar were super hit including the songs “tumko kush dekhkar”, “aap ke diwane hai”, etc. He gave good music in Big B’s film Yaarana. Kishore Kumar’s song “chukar meri manko” became big hit. From the 1990s, he concentrated more on composing music in his brother’s films, that is Rakesh Roshan’s film. All the songs of the film Karan Arjun became super hit including “suraj ki peheli kiran se”, “bhangra bole”, etc. The film also became super hit. The music that he composed in Hrithik Roshan’s films became landmark hits. All the songs of Kahona Pyar Hai, were super hit including “pyar ki kashti me”, “haseeno ki mehfil”, etc. All the songs of the film Koi Mil Gaya became super hit including the title song “koi mil gaya”. All the songs of the film Krissh became super hit including “dil na liya”, “chori chori chupke chupke”, etc. He also won the filmfare award for the best music director for the composition of music in the film Kahona Pyar Hai in 2000. In 2010, the viewers expected good performance from Rajesh Roshan as well for the film Kites. It had been produced by Rakesh Roshan with Hrithik Roshan playing the lead role. Always when the dream combination had worked together they had created magic. Although the music was appreciated the film could not do good business due to use of Spanish which was not understandable to the common masses. The viewers expect grand performance from Rajesh Roshan, Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan whenever they work together again.

Parama Banerjee sang the song “tumi je esechile” in the film Bhuter Bhabiswat. She sang the song in the style of the Kanan Debi. She said that during childhood she was born in a very conservative family. She was not allowed to see hindi films. She became fan of Mithun Chakravarty at the time when the films Disco Dancer, Dance Dance were released.

Mithun asked singer Poornima who was called Sushma Shreshth to sing her superhit song “tera mujshe hai pehle yeh nata koi” in the film Aa Gale lag Jaa. She sang the song in style. When she was asked about what she was doing at the present moment she said that she was singing in Bhojpuri films.

A film clipping of rabindrasangeet of Arundhuti Home Choudhury was shown where she sang a song with Babul Supriyo. Anindya Chatterjee of the band Chandrabindu also came in the show. He sang one of his songs from his recent albums.

At that time Raj Kapoor came from London. Dilip Kumar came to know that Nargis and Raj Kapoor’s marriage was previously fixed. Raj Kapoor married Nargis. Dilip Kumar presented a doll to Nargis and Raj Kapoor’s daughter on her birthday. In that doll Dilip Kumar mentioned that Nargis loved Raj Kapoor and not Dilip Kumar. One day when Nargis told that she did not love the partner, Raj Kapoor heard it thinking that she told about him. But she mentioned it about Dilip Kumar. Raj Kapoor suspected Nargis of having relationship with Dilip Kumar and in a confrontation hit Dilip Kumar and left with his daughter. Nargis brought a doctor and Dilip Kumar after recovery in rage wanted to molest Nargis. Nargis killed him with a gun and got imprisoned. At the end of the film Raj Kapoor read the letter written by Dilip Kumar and met with Nargis in the prison. Naushad Ali gave excellent music in the film. Mukesh’s song “tu kahe agar”, Rafi and Lata’s duet song “yuh to aapas me bigadte hai” became super hit. Majrooh Sultanpuri wrote the lyrics of the film. Nargis, Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar were excellent in the film. This was the only film where the titans Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor acted together. Very significantly Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor showed that they were going to rule bollywood industry for another 30 years. They remained the greatest stars India had ever produced and were the rulers of the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s. The film should be preserved and restored.

She also attended the filmfare awards. After judging the program she returned back to USA. Madhuri Dixit attended some of the award functions later on. All of a sudden deep sea worms of Ottoia family attacked all the passengers and turned them into skeleton. Treat Williams found his vessel colliding with a big stony body and got the vessel damaged. They boarded in the ship to fix their own engines. The rest of the film was the struggle of all the persons against the Ottoia. The creature looked like Octopus, but had strong biting mechanisms which created deep scars in the body of the victims and became unmanageable. All the mercenaries were killed one after the other. Anthony Heald tried to escape by a boat but it crashed with Argonautica and the creature was killed. Treat Williams finally took Famke Jannson in a small boat and reached another island. The creature created horror effect. It is doubtful whether such creatures still are alive in South China Sea. The performances of Treat Williams, Famke Jannson and others were realistic. The film did good business.

Jennifer Lopez was the director who wanted to make a documentary film on a lost Indian tribe named Shirishama tribe. They went across Amazon river. They took the help of a native Paraguan lost person Jon Hoight who told them that he knew the way where the tribe lived. Along with Jennifer Lopez, members of her crew went with her namely Ice Cube, Kary Wuhrer, Owen Wilson and others. Eric Sloltz got stung in his neck by a poisonous wasp. Due to his sickness, Jon Hoight took command of the boat. He actually wanted to hunt a green anaconda in the river. Vincent Castellanos was killed by the Anaconda. Jennifer Lopez convinced her crew members that Jon Hoight was becoming a threat. Instead of rescuing them he was misleading them and taking them to anaconda’s den. They united together and tied him with a rope. But Hoight chocked Kary Wohrer and got rid of the rope. Jennifer Lopez and Ice Cube were tied in a rope and given as food to the anaconda by Jon Hoight. Lopez and Ice Cube freed themselves and the anaconda killed Jon Hoight himself. The anaconda got stuck in a smoke stack. Ice Cube ignited it and burned the anaconda alive. Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube and Eric Stoltz were the only survivers and they found the lost tribe at the end. The film did excellent business. Jennifer Lopez, Eric Stoltz, Ice Cube and Jon Hoight were unparallel. It never looked like they were acting. Everything came out natural.

In the film Saffron Burrows looked for a solution for Alzheimer’s disease in aquatic. She violated a code of ethics, that is Harvard Genetic’s Compact. She genetically engineered three Maco Sharks to increase their brain capacity. After the sharks were engineered they became more intelligent and violent also. A corporate executive Samuel Jackson came to see the work of the aquatica. The team succeeded in taking out the brain tissue of the largest shark. The shark attacked Stellan Skarsgard. When a helicopter was used to pick the victim, the body fell down in water and the shark killed the victim. The sharks killed each of the persons one after the other. The cook LL Cool J managed to kill one of the sharks by setting the kitchen on fire. Saffron Burrows killed the other shark by electrocuting it. She opened her dress when the shark attacked while she was searching for important papers and electrocuted it. At the end LL Cool J, Suffron Burrows and Thomas Jane were the only persons who managed to climb the system. Thomas Jane was a criminal who after finishing his sentence was engaged in the aquatic. He was the only person who could swim with the shark by holding its fins. Saffron Burrows tried to distract the last shark by cutting her hand and diving in the water. When she tried to climb on the water, she slipped and fell down and the shark devoured her. At the end LL Cool J killed the shark by an explosive harpoon. The scientists came in a launch to rescue LL Cool J and Thomas Jane. The performance of Saffron Burrows, Thomas Jane and LL Cool J were par excellence. The film killed a horror effect and did excellent business.

Mir Afsar Ali asked Moushumi Chatterjee her experience of acting in the first film Balika Badhu. It was the film eminent director Tarun Majumdar. She said that Tarun Majumdar used to live very near her house. She asked whether she was interested to act in his film. She said who was going to be the hero of her film, was it Uttam Kumar? She acted in the film and the rest was history. Mir Afsar Ali asked her who was the best dancer opposite Moushumi Chatterjee. She said it was Rishi Kapoor. She said that she acted opposite him in the film Zehreela Insaan. Mir told everyone that her first hindi film was Anuraag opposite Vinod Mehra. She shared her experience of acting opposite Uttam Kumar in the film Ogo Bodhu Sundari in 1980. The film was the last film of Uttam Kumar. It was based on the story of George Bernard Shaw. Moushumi Chatterjee had great experience in acting opposite her childhood idol superstar Uttam Kumar. The film became super hit. Moushumi Chatterjee also said that the first film opposite Uttam Kumar was in the film Ananda Ashram in the year 1977. She was paired opposite Rakesh Roshan, but the central character of the film Uttam Kumar. Moushumi Chatterjee recited few of her poems also. All the judges Rajatavo Dutta, Paran Banerjee and Srilekha Mitra showed lot of respect for Moushumi Chatterjee. He is the only legendary singer who had survived for more than 90 years. He had sung more than 5000 songs in different languages hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Malayalam, etc. Manna Dey had a very sweet relationship with Sudhin Dasgupta. He was used by almost all the leading composers of Bengal namely Anil Bagchi, Nochiketa Ghosh, Salil Choudhury and others. But probably his westernized andaz was used to the limit by Sudhin Dasgupta. Sudhin Dasgupta used Manna Dey in Uttam Kumar’s film Goli Theke Rajpoth with the song “lag lag lag lag bhelkir khela”. Manna Dey’s songs “ami agantuk” and “ke prothom kache esechi” composed by Sudhin Dasgupta in Uttam Kumar’s film Shankhabela created sensation in Bengali celluloid in 1966. Manna Dey’s songs “ami kon pothe je choli” and “bachao ke acho” in Uttam Kumar’s film Choddobeshi became super hit as well. In the 70s, Manna Dey’s songs “esechi ami esechi”, “lekha porata shikhe phele” and “paye paye joriye rakho” in Uttam Kumar’s film Har Mana Har created sensation as well. Uttam Kumar gave the lips of his lifetime in the film Har Mana Har. While major success of Sudhin Dasgupta came in Uttam Kumar’s films, he made major contribution in Soumitra Chatterji’s films as well. The songs “ei shohor theke aro anek dure”, “hoyto tomari jonyo”, “jibone ki pabona” in the film Teen Bhubaner Pare, composed by Sudhin Dasgupta and sung by Manna Dey showed the westernized orchestration of the giant composer. Sudhin Dasupta’s songs in Soumitra’s films Prothom Kodom Phul and Bosonto Bilaap were equally successful. Manna Dey’s all round musical skills were used to perfection in these films. Even the song “ogo tomar sesh bichare asay” sung by Manna Dey in bayul andaz in Kali Banerjee’s legendary film Dak Horkora, and composed by Sudhin Dasgupta made the viewers speechless. Manna Dey sang many numbers of solo numbers as basic discs under the compositions of Sudhin Dasgupta. One of the notable songs included “ami taar thikana rakhini”. The songs of Sudhin Dasgupta and Manna Dey combination should be preserved and restored.

The actors of the film including Vikram Chatterjee, Indraneel Sengupta and others came to the show. Even Sharad Kapoor came to the show. The composer of music of the film also came and said that a huge experiment was done in the film with the song “majhe majhe tobo dekha payi”. Generally Rabindranath Tagore had been an institution by himself all across his life. His story had not lost its relevance even today. The composer told Mithun that the westernized dimension of Rabindranath’s song had been excellent in the film Elar Char Odhyay. The film was made on the backdrop of Bengal’s freedom movement. All the actors and members of the crew of Elar char Odhyay were there excepting actress Paoli Dam. She had played the lead role in the film. It was a great credit of director Bappaditya Banerjee to make a film with a story of 1930s which had been replicated in 2012. It was challenging and risky. Sharad Kapoor told Mithun Chakravarty that he had seen the downfall of many stars in bollywood. Only Mithun Chakravarty was one of the actors who never faced any downfall. Mithun laughed at his words. He anchored the program very well.

The project was funded by John Rhys-Davis. 2 anacondas escaped from the laboratory. To anaconda hunters were contacted led by David Hasselhoff. Ryan Mckluskey also went with them. Some of the members were killed in jungle by genetically transformed tail of the anaconda. The female anaconda became pregnant and gave birth to offsprings. At the end explosives are used to kill the anacondas. Although most of the offprings were killed one was still alive and it was handed over to John Rhys-Davis. The hunter was told if the offspring was reached to him, the money would automatically reach the bank account of the hunter. The performances of Crystal Allen, John Rhys- Davis, David Hasselhoff and others were excellent. Although the film was based on fiction and such huge anacondas are not existing in any part of the world, due to excellent camera work and photo-effects the film was made medium of entertainment.

The film Nagin in the mid-70s, with Reena Roy, Jeetender, Mumtaz and others, did fantastic business. So Pooja Bedi was lucky to start her career with such films. Later on her film with Amir Khan, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, did fantastic business. The film was based on teenage romance. Amir Khan always had a special place in the minds of viewers as his romantic appeal always attracted the female audience right from the release of the film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Pooja Bedi probably had given her best. Pooja Bedi’s role of a teenage girl did fit the requirement of the story and the film. All the songs in the film became successful including the song “pehla nasha, pehla khumar” sung by Udit Narayan. Viewers of different tastes appreciated the film. Her other notable films included Aatank Hi Aatank and Lootere. She was very impressive in Mahesh Bhatt’s film Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Ayee. It was a film related to human relationship and Pooja Bedi’s performance in a supporting role was appreciated by the critics. She was as impressive as Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Roy in the film. In the late 90s, all of a sudden she faded away from the industry. But she continued to appear in television shows. She was the anchor of the TV shows Not Just Page 3 and Just Pooja in Zoom TV. These programs became very popular in the years when they were telecast. In the following period she even participated as contestant in TV shows like Jhalak Dikhlaja in Sony TV, Heart Beat, Mum Tum or Hum, Jodi Kamaal Ki, Nach Baliye, etc., in Star TV, also Fear Factor – Khatron Ki Khiladi in Colors. The viewers expect her make a comeback in bollywood films in the years to come.

Satabdi Roy MP Satabdi Roy stormed Zee Bangla Mirakkel Program on 30th April, 2012. She had been a successful Bengali actress of Bengali films of 1980s and 1990s. When Mir Afsar Ali asked what had been the transformation of Bengali films during her times, that is the 80s and Bengali film today. She said the producers had started spending a lot of money in Bengali films. It did not happen during her time. At that time films were shot in Phalta and other locations close to Kolkata. If there used to be an outdoor shooting which was very far, then the shooting used to take place in Siliguri. These days are shot in Paris, Rome, Athens, etc., so the films of Jeet and Dev are expensive films which are shot in foreign countries. There had been lot of development in Bengali films. Satabdi Roy read out a poetry of her own. She had been writing poetry for the last 20 years which are published in many places. She recited the poetry based on the life of a girl in Bengal. The performers Sangeet Tiwary, Palash Adhikari, Abu Henna Ronnie and others played their characters very well. Mir asked Satabdi Roy to bring Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in his show. Inspite of the busy schedule of Satabdi Roy she said she watched Mirakkel whenever she had to go to New Delhi. She could recognize the participants and told everyone about their speciality. She also said that judge Rajatavo Dutta was her first hero in Bengali films.
